SoD Runes = Class Homogenization

Tbh it’s the line if you ever wanted to play a mage that can heal. Like what were they thinking. Like roll a healing clas lmao. The wizard identity in fantasy isn’t a healer.

The mage heal was face palm. I thought it was april 1st for a couple mins there.

Build diversity is a good thing. Classes can still bring niche to the table while performing non-traditional roles. Destroying build diversity by forcing classes into certain specs or talent sets is what was ultimately unhealthy for WoW. The reintroduction of talents in Dragonflight, for instance, was a step in the right direction.

It’ll be fun to see how this one plays out.

I played retail for like a week and had no idea who was the tank or the dps, nothing mattered you just spammed aoes. That is what sod is gonna be

Sounds like a load of sod to me.

Did you ever branch out of M0’s and Raidfinder? Gameplay difficulty is exceptionally higher in retail.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Classic, but it’s much more spammy than any other iteration of the game.

Oh and DOTs are too punishing since they have to plan when to restelth and that can be complicated. So let’s give them a cloak to remove debuffs

I tanked every level 60 dungeon with dungeon gear on my shaman in Classic Vanilla, as well as Onyxia and most bosses in MC and ZG, including a Magmadar fight where the best mage in our raid parsed a 99 (i.e. a tank n’ spank where he was able to turret). Leveling dungeons can be tanked by literally any class so long as you have a healer.

I think the tank was the one who was tanking all the mobs and the dps were the ones damaging all the mobs.

I guess we could pretend you couldn’t AoE dungeon spam in Classic without a dedicated tank or healer. Didn’t even need to be specifically AoE groups either. You could go in with 5 dps specs as long as you had a class who could throw out a heal every so often.

Exactly lol. Like why remove the flavor of every class.

It started with the opening of the dark portal I tell you what. Dang Burning Crusade ruined WoW!

But actually, though.

U can aoe spam dungeons with AOE CLASSES. Being mage, warrior, warlock

Just look at retail pvp. Do you enjoy that over classic pvp?

You forgot shaman, rogue, paladin, cat form druid, druid, hunter (with or without pet), when they equip the super aoe skill rune.

Can’t believe you forgot about the super aoe rune, some people are such noobs.

Right that’s my point.

You said SoD was going to be like retail because you just AoE everything down when people were doing that day 1 on Classic without an actual tank at all.

I haven’t played Retail seriously since Wrath was retail. I did give Shadowlands a try and did enjoy playing BGs as a Frostmage but that’s as far as any recent experience I have with retail PvP goes.

Retail PvP is a superior PvP experience and it’s not even close. Vanilla (and TBC, and Wrath) PvP is embarrassing trash.

Nothing wrong with Paladins having a taunt, they are supposed to be one of the tank classes.

No they are not a tank in Classic.

Giving them a taunt is a mistake. They are healers in classic. Classes need defined roles.

For me, I don’t want to see a huge balance between classes, but they really should make each build playable/excel in certain areas so they can get into raids. I got bored of playing classic era because it’s 90% of the same cookie cutter builds with most class builds unplayable to get into raids.

Just make certain builds better at certain situations so you aren’t class stacking and take some of each. It’s not to say you can’t have two class builds that are strong in lets say aoe healing (druid and shaman) but both can also bring extras to the table so you bring both instead of just stack one of them. Same for dps where you aren’t just bringing wars/rogues/mages.

Vanilla was fun but some class builds just weren’t tested enough/rushed/not enough time put into them to make playable in the end. Blizzard already gave people 2019 classic, SoM classic and classic era. Don’t give people like me crap because we’re finally getting a chance to play some class builds we wanted to play but couldn’t because of the build designs/limits/gear options, etc. not making it viable.

I’ll be playing my freaking shaman tank.

Do I think they went overboard on letting some classes like mages having a heal ability? Yes it seemed strange vs helping builds like ret paladins and balance druids solve some of their issues. But I’d rather deal with that then no classic plus ever.
