too many reasons to mention, how about how SoD is glorified retail, people know vanilla is garbage so they need to add wrath abilities and quality of life into it to make it interesting and playable. Out of touch vanilla only players who say they dont the features future expansion bring but then ask for it in vanilla. They say they dont want cataclysm but ask for hyjal and uldum to be finished in vanilla even though that is literally cata. And many more.

Im not saying only Era, im also saying tbc, wrath and cata classic. Vanilla and TBC did not have other game modes being released during it’s time that are not classic at all. HC and SoD are a slap in the face to the original private server players.
For the most part I agree, there have been some disappointments, but having way more fun than I was having on retail. Was way more exciting doing DM for the first time this season, than another M+ in retail
