SoD has made me look forward to leveling in Fresh

Even though there’s no bonus xp in Fresh, the thought of “oh thank Thrall I don’t have to farm runes anymore” is the most prevalent one I have when I think of leveling. Making alts in SoD has had that giant shadow that always looms over it for me that makes the notion entirely unappealing.

I’ll probably play both versions of the game, but that said, I’ve noticed as a PvPer I just have been ironically raid logging Thunderaan, which is a bit sad because I know once I get my dagger, I’ll probably just stop logging in.

Honestly Fresh is going to be great. Already saying it will be progressing to TBC as well. It’ll be great for my character to not feel temporary.

I’m the exact opposite tbh. SoD has spoiled me with all the QoL changes. Maybe I’ll come back around for TBC because I’m sure they’ll introduce boosts again lol but don’t really have any interest in playing through a watered down version of the content that I’ve already been playing through in SoD…especially with the progression systems that they’re putting in place. I’d just be grinding to 60 then running through MC/Onyxia every week for a few months, and I’ve already been doing that multiple times each week since P4 launched. I do know there is an audience out there who does want fresh realms though, and I’m hoping those that do have a blast! It’s just not something I’d be interested in.

Not super temporary.* always going to be that drop off point, but yeah… SoD being seasonal instead of classic+ just kinda demonstrated a lack of commitment from blizzard to something that we’re supposed to commit towards.

We’ll see. I’m going in with zero expectations, and will just see how the journey treats me along the way. Maybe I’ll feel burnt out on doing the vanilla leveling process, or maybe I’ll have a really good time. SoD breaking up that leveling process I suspect helped with the not being burned out aspect since it was spaced out and/or sped up.

I definitely worry about that. I just made myself flinch with the thought of no dual spec for another vanilla / tbc iteration.

Big W for me there since I haven’t touched any raids outside of bfd / thunderaan since original classic. That said, I don’t particularly want to touch those raids again either.

Yeahhh, I’m not sure where I stand with it. I just know that I was finding myself logging into SoD less and less because on the PvP front, there’s nothing left to look forward to. Rank 14 will just be downgrades from thunderaan weapons, and downgrade titles… and they kinda just let the world event idea rot into oblivion.

Yeah I definitely understand; especially for those that aren’t altoholics, there really isn’t much for people to do. I have a group of buddies that we reguarly run stuff, whether its dungeons or alt raids or other stuff and we have a blast, but I also completely understand burnout for those that don’t have groups of likeminded to play with. I saw some leaks of potential blood moon content returning which would be super exciting. Loved Blood Moon so I’d love to see that back again.

I was an altoholic, but I kept hitting a point where it was like, welp time to gear… but I don’t want to raid on my main, let alone an alt… So I grind dungeons for as much gear as I can and then… do the pvp grind? for gear that’s inferior due to no set bonuses… I just end up overthinking the gearing process to the point where I just log out one day and stop logging back in.

I’m really disappointed that they didn’t add more stuff to the reals vendor. Having dungeons as an alternate way to obtain last phase’s tier gear would be such a big W… and they just missed that opportunity entirely.

Also, why in the world did they not do heroic dungeons, or alpha / beta / gamma, or at least scale up the low level dungeons for a lvl 60 mode? There’s so many relatively easy big wins they could have, that they just don’t do.

My friend group on this version is sparse, so it means I’m not dragged into doing things passively with little to no reward, which as a result puts a heavy emphasis on needing to have that incentive built into doing content that they just haven’t built into it.

That… is the least exciting thing for me to hear lol. Blood moon was the one I enjoyed the least, and dragged out for 2 phases. Hearing that was the phase 3 world event again is actually what got me to check out of phase 2 and not come back until phase 4. Conceptually it’s a cool, but in practice it just doesn’t play well in my eyes. That said I main a rogue, and having everyone in groups of 5 makes it very hard to be anything more than a suicide bomber because there’s zero chance of us escaping after a kill without cloak of shadows.
