That simple if anyone was confused. People really like SoD but it was cannibalizing the other versions of the game. The solution was to drive players from SoD to MoP so they can spend more money on dragon mounts and garbage. Gamers are upset because this decision was obviously not something the community wanted at all. Shareholders are happy because who cares about gamers?

SoD isn’t dead. SoD stopped development because Blizzard moved the SoD team onto a new unannounced Classic Project (almost certainly Classic+) with more resources.
Because MoP is brand new and lauded as one of the best expansions (and the free level 80 boost) many people are trying it out.
What does “seasonal server” mean ultimately?
Does anything about that term give off “last forever” vibes?

While it started as a seasonal server it didnt end a seasonal server, its now long term with the same name.

It’s an era now correct, but it’s seasonal production is done
I don’t blame them for doing it since you can’t xfer sod Chars because they are on a unique baseboard

I am doing it I have 7 60’s about to be 8, but Blizzard has made it pretty hard for any new players to come to SoD let a lone keep raiding with the current population. We need server mergers and at least a quality of life update every couple months.
It’s pretty apparent that a majority of the leftover SoD community would overwhelming welcome a merger but it’s not being done to funnel people to Panda Cash Shop Land.

Sorry that your turn was over. SoD had its turn for nearly two years and it caused major problems for Cataclysm.
What’s there to fight for? SoD isn’t going anywhere. People just don’t want to play it anymore because it got boring.

Cataclysm caused problems for itself by being trash. It’s widely accepted as one of the worst x-pacs and signaled for the first time in it’s original release that the games slight dip in wotlk was sure to be a population freefall in Cata. So don’t blame SoD for Cata having major problems.

I dont think anyone got bored. More like Blizzard killing SOD in hopes the player base hops on the MOP bandwagon. How has that turned out? I think blizzard lost way more subs then they hope for. I know my 2 subs run out soon.
I might be back for classic+ if it sounds good. But, I have zero faith in this blizzard team.
