(SOD) Blade of Eternal Darkness drop rate

Realistically I think it might have some serious value for mage healers. Hence the reason I am hunting for it.

Much expected from someone who doesn’t know how to respond to their own logic.

Does it sound like I need guards? I literally PVP the people there. Welcome to the ignore list, teenager! xD

Lack of reading comprehension = Teenager that needs to go on ignore.

I was talking about the mages, not you.
Reading comprehension lmao, ironic

Ah yes, logic. Mage water (free, conjurable infinitely) = Extremely rare epic dagger.

Take a lap son.

Your logic is that your class requires Sul’thraze thus is why it should have a higher drop rate when in reality you also have alternatives to weapons. You don’t need it, you just want it to compete. Casters want BoED for the proc on it. You also do not need mage water when there are vendors around to world to get said water from but you ask mages because it is beneficial to you, vendor water is indefinite too. I guarantee if Sul’thraze did not have a buffed drop chance you would be complaining about it tho. You know what is not definite though? SoD BC. Sorry you cannot grasp what a hyper accelerated seasonal realm means.

oof you’re one of those people. I wouldn’t be complaining because it’s then it wouldn’t be realistic that I would get the weapon. Imagine playing a mage alt in classic era, sure you would LOVE staff of jordan to drop, but you don’t sit around farming the open world expecting it.

Also vendor water costs money. Mage water is just a cast. You can cast it, then use it to create an infinite amount of them.

Jesus dude, just take the L. You’re clueless

I did play a mage in classic era. I also got BoED in classic era. Classic era was here to stay, SoD has unknown waters but again hold this L.

Era also changed it to a 2% drop chance in P5 and Season of Mastery had it as 2% right from the get go. I don’t see why another Seasonal server wouldn’t follow the same pattern.

Yup… I am 100% sure its an oversight from devs.

As someone who has no dog in this race at all, I look at it this way: We’re playing SoD which is still Classic (Despite what everyone wants to say, it is still Classic at its core.) and even with it being Classic, there’s no reason for stuff like BoED to be super duper rare with how short the phases are. Should it still be rare? Sure but not so rare that you have to no life the heck out of Mara just to get it.

Nobody has to get it though, this is a non issue.

Thats quite a broad statement, because technically, nobody has to get anything either since nothing is mandatory. People cleared ST with gnomer geared so everything, pass that is useless and drop rate shouldn’t matter. Doesnt mean we don’t want em

Correct! You don’t need to have to have the best gear. If you want the best gear, most of it is easily accessible.

What makes the game especially fun is that there are some very very hard pieces to get, which don’t make a huge difference, but if you’re playing absolutely perfectly it’ll give you a leg up on others playing absolutely perfectly.

Probably because they pigeonholed Ret into ‘fast weapon = good’ so hard that we literally can’t do dps with anything but Sul’Thraze.

EDIT: That said, 0.2% drop rate sucks. It should be at least 1-2% imo.

EDIT2: Seriously, instead of just fixing Ret and making us relatively viable with any weapon, they’ve messed us up so badly that they had to literally make Sul’Thraze 2 speed in the last day before Phase 3 just to keep us from being below Frost Mages in terms of dps.

At least the classes who can use Blade of Eternal Darkness can still do fine dps without it.

oof.

There is no reason to not increase to drop rate to something reasonable for SoD. All the people arguing otherwise are being contrarian for the forum post count increase.

The dagger should have ninja looting protection

its not even powerful lmao! this comment made me LOL. Its a gold farmer/booster item. Ina raid where the fights are going to be 30 seconds and a handful of fights might be 2min cuz of mechanics making it 2 or 3 minutes the mana is still negligible on single target. Mages have evocation and 3 or 4 mana potions. PLUS SHAMANistic rage. Priests have dispersion for god sakes, they never need mana plus the druids are always inervating THEM anyway. Mana is a non issue in SoD bro

Shamanistic rage only applies to half the population in the game, you said 3-4 mana pots ??? The amount of gold required for that every fight lol
