So with leveling a warrior

Arms is king for leveling and it’s not even close. Every row of talents has something to offer that really makes an impact.

Improved rend is a meaningful damage increase in the beginning levels.
Tactical mastery actually less you be functional as a warrior.
Anger management, improved overpower (oh yes), and deep wounds are all big power increases.
Then you get impale and 2-H weapon spec - again big power increases.
Then you get sweeping strikes, one of the biggest power spikes you can get. Multimob pulls suddenly turn from something you dread into something you charge head-first into. When you get whirlwind and the WW axe, you become a god.
Then finally, mortal strike is your capstone.

I like arms too but if you aren’t going fury for the first 5 talents for 5% crit, you’re doing it wrong.

Prot pallies can level in HC. I see a lot. But prot warriors cannot. Do arms with a pocket heals. Then you will be fine.

Great pointers, thank you.

However, everyone knows gnome is BiS.

IMO…for leveling…

obviously, not prot

ARMS to start (possibly to the end, depends on what you like)
With arms you can get access to Sweeping Strikes and 5% chance to double attack.

Mix the double attack with a nice 2h sword with a damage proc on it and watch things vanish.

FURY is fun later on IF you can get the hit and gear / weapons. ARMS still need that stuff do, but Fury is much more dependent on it. Early on, you dont have DW, so fury doesnt work and mid levels, you just lack the hit and your offhand is lackluster.

Yeah you get 5% crit first always, then you either go 2h fury or arms depending on your personal taste.

he’s right you know :expressionless: nothing is gonna beat +5% crit in those early levels.

btw I usually skip anger management. is it worth the talent point? I usually use execute at the end of fights anyway, or end the fight with just a little rage and use it up refreshing battle shout.

Prot sucks. Unless you’re the main tank of a guild and you’re Progression raiding, there’s very little reason to play Prot.

Warriors have all the tools they need to be effective tanks as Arms or Fury while leveling. Speccing Prot is overkill, and might actually hurt you since you lack the tools to effectively generate loads of threat as a low level Prot Warrior.

Anger management actually doesn’t work exactly how it says, and it gives you consistent rage points every few seconds while in combat in addition to slowing the decline out of combat. So it’s pretty good for one point, especially while running dungeons when you’re in combat a lot. You get 1 rage every 3s or something while in combat.

oh wow, that does sound good. if it said that in the description i would get it for sure :expressionless:

It seems like they coded it where if your rage decays at 3 per 3s when out of combat, then anger management ADDS 1 point every 3s, counteracting the decay by 30% out of combat. But they inadvertently made it so that addition also happens in combat when it’s not decaying, so it’s quite good, especially in raids etc. Over the course of a raid boss you’ll get an extra BT or execute or whatever of rage for the one point.
