So where's 9.1 at? Game is a mess and boring right now

Flight times and no mounting in the maw has probably added 40 extra min per day when I was playing.

Is so sad that this is how the dev team decided to squeeze play time out of us rather than adding something fun and entertaining.

Here, a player who did. And so far, this expac is struggling to keep me engaged compared to WoD. I wouldn’t say its bad yet, as we got plenity of patches to go, but it has a uphill battle in order to be able to be good. Its not BFA levels of bad, but def close to WoD.

Thats BS and you know it. We had alternate ways to get gear before that wasn’t miserable raid drops from bigger modes or pvp. And by the time of WoD, raid and dungeon drops were better than in vanilla/BC/Wotlk so there was no need for valor/justice or alternate ways of loot that much, which is why they were done away with. This new loot drops logic makes no sense when there is no valor/justice or any real alternative way to gear outside pvp, raids or miserable M+ loot thats inferior to heroic loot and is so scarce its not even funny.

I don’t think you have lol, your focusing so much on dps, that your forgetting hpals exist. Which is what he is likely referring too besides ret.

An average raid tier is like 5 months or so. We’re currently coming up to on 2 months.

We should get something in a month or two though since usually first tier doesn’t last as long with the intro raid.

Just because you have this little time to play the game does not mean everyone does or that everyone is at the same age and time in their life.

I really don’t understand why you even brought that up.

Either way, travel is just a trivial part of the game, time wise.

You travel 2 or so minutes to do content that takes upwards of 30 minutes.

This if you don’t have the ability to budget this sort of time, that’s something you have to deal with.

It is not up to the game to change to make your life less busy.

M+ still can give you none stop loot so it not giving as much makes no sense. Cant really argue the raid loot nerfs thats lame of them to do that but m+ and the vault are there to supplement the lack of a badge system. Does it work perfectly no but I can gear up faster than I was able to in lets say wrath but not as fast as bfa when getting a piece of gear was the least exciting part of the game.

I main another pally this is an alt but I hate pvp xD everyone keeps trying to have me join it though

There is a key difference there, several in fact:
*For M+ to give you decent loot odds, you need to run 5 different M+ dungeons to get a single loot piece and even timing it doesnt increase odds that much, not to mention that you actually need to time it on 15 onwards to get 210 ilvl gear, far inferior than heroic castle gear.
*Vault only gives loot once a week, plus it suffers from the same issue as m+ loot im noting below
*Justice/valor gear, by comparison, allowed you to work towards a goal and moreover, you were guaranteed to get the piece you wanted eventually. M+ and vault can either give you straight downgrades, useless junk or duplicate items , and in vaul’ts case it can still happen even if you fill all 3 choices by doing nothing but 14s keystones that week(had that happen to my main before, it was infuriating).

I played previous expansions, and the only place where this one is a straight upgrade by comparison is vanilla, which had raids that were nicknamed “molten chore”, “borewing lair”, “Haxxramas” and the likes because you had to keep running it for specific pieces that wouldnt drop for months even if the rest of the raid was of little interest to you. Moreover, even vanilla had crafting that allowed you to get decent gear at least, even if it wasn’t great or optimal, it was better than nothing and you knew what you got VS running M+ to get downgrades or items that clash on a legendary slot. And wotlk had recipes dropping off raids as well that allowed item crafting to help with gear you needed, or did you forget?

SL doesn’t even have crafting gear outside one-off legendaries with soul ash, doesnt have valor/justice points to offset bad RNG, and drop rates are some of the worst so far in this game. PVPing offers a more consistent way of gearing compared to this dumpster fire of a gearing road, and its totally wrong to force PVE players to PVP because PVE is unrewarding as it is.

A good way to make anima more relevant and actually make M+ useful outside of a unreliable chance of a 210 that might or might not even be a upgrade would be to return the upgrade item system from MoP/WoD and use anima as the source of the upgrade, with a cap of how many upgrades you can apply a week and put a clear cap on maxium ilvl a item can increase in a single tier. That could be a good alternative to valor/justice system and solve so many problems…

Because other players have made threads of a similar nature saying the exact same thing, they feel the developers are disrespecting their time by building in large time sinks to try and keep people playing.

Don’t think it’s really working but we’ll know more when Q1 results get released.

Yep being a care giver of an ailing family member takes up most of my time now, I play when they fall asleep and when they wake up I log off.

I’m not just answering this as me, I’m also talking for those of whom I’ve read their thread about this very problem and haven’t responded to you on here. Likely they have already moved to greener shores, something I really don’t want to see happen. That being said someone has to speak up for other threads about this issue. Seeing that the original authors either can’t or worse they’ve given up and won’t.

Operant conditioning. They’re attempting to retrain the playerbase to think this is normal.

botting is not an issue at all. I say this as a person who has basically wasted 90% of his game time farming ore, skins, herbs (in that order). the problem is the massive amounts of the stuff necessary to make anything at lvl 60 (i.e., legos). the sheer volume of ore required and then the ridiculous RNG involved in prospecting it or skinning a heavy callous hide or the green version…I have a 32 bag full of desolate leather just sitting there because it’s not worth selling. the mat requirements for rinky dink little rank 1s and rank 2s (15x) is more time consuming and frustrating than banging your head against a progression boss.

all of that said, I’ve had zero problems with bots or packs of multiboxers wiping out nodes in front of my eyes.

At that point though will be playing the new FF14 expansion though

Sounds like you should quit. So quit.

On farm ya say?

uhhh

I’d believe this if it was like 1991. But it’s not, it’s 2021…

Laughing out loud at people and this game. Why are you even playing this trash!!! It is uninspired dross!!! Stop for one week and the spell will break and you will realize. One week only. You can live without it folks. Deep breaths

Flying sucks

Oh I didn’t mean it to come across as if that should be the only way to play. I apologize if it did come over like that. I’ve always enjoyed the fact that wow has traditionally brought so many players into the game because of so many options in which to play the game.

Generally speaking, there’s lots to do for everyone, of every game taste. That’s a great thing! I enjoy watching others having a good time raiding/battlegrounds. The smiles on their faces when they’re in the thick of things with their friends is fun to see.

It’s not my cup of tea, but I’d certainly never wish bad upon anyone that enjoys it.

I’d say in previous expansions that folks that like that content usually have a year and a half of good content. That’s okay to me. Six months worth of soloable stuff before it got kind of stale and I’d have to find something else to entertain me is okay. Lots of folks enjoy that type of stuff, and I don’t blame them.

I am only concerned because I’m feeling worn out of content super fast this time. Where I usually get 6mths, I’m feeling done in 2.

That worries me, it worries me for not just us solo players, but also for everyone else? We have two years to a next expansion and how long will even Torghast last for you guys? The state of pvp for those that like it, seems off? and what about any battlegrounds?

I’m just worried. I love WoW. I enjoy being around others who love WoW and it concerns me about where it’s currently sitting. For Everyone, not just me

ps though, I do like your suggestions. Any constructive conversation is always good

It’s a good thing nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to fly if you don’t want to!

Except … yes… they are because flying is directly tied to power growth due to speed increase

They should actually force flying though like BC where it has a purpose other than satisfying lazy players
