So when -is- the Horde going to be in the story? [spoilers]

Maybe Eitrigg will roll up to tell them to join the Alliance and kill their own kind or something.

World famous Son of Lothar Eitrigg?! What an honor.

Dude… As I said earlier. The Sin’dorei are window dressing for what’s a mostly Alliance story. Sorry, pointy-eared Anduin, retconned or not, does not count as Horde story. As likeable as he is - because he’s designed to be, he’s been chilling in Hellfire Peninsula for the last 18 years as an Alliance NPC.

Then he’s retconned into all this nonsense about apparently spending years in Silvermoon and Dalaran, then Stormwind, then whatever - AS IF Horde players, after having almost zero representation in so many years, are going to be happy given a “neutral” (totes not every been Alliance-leaning for the entirety of the game) npc and expecting anyone to be happy with this?

Being paid lip service isn’t the same as being actually involved in the plot, and you know it. We’re involved in Zul’aman with Liadrin, then we have Lor’themar being the chapter header for the next quest, and that’s IT. Rest of it? Alliance characters.

And that’s not even talking about the fact that despite Undercity being a brisk jog away from Silvermoon, and Tranquillien still having Forsaken NPCs living there to this day, NOT. A. SINGLE. HORDE. NPC. SHOWS. UP. TO. DEFEND. THE. SUNWELL/SILVERMOON. THAT. ISN’T. A. PALADIN. OR. THAT. ISN’T. A. BLOOD. ELF.
(Might have missed one or two - but if so, still; thats one. Or two.)

After finishing questing in Zul’aman, Zul’jarra and the Amani are more likely to show up to defend the Sunwell and Silvermoon than any ANY existing non-Blood Elf Horde entities. That’s a problem.

Edit: Sorry, forgot Ranger General Halduron doing plant stuff in plant/mushroom lands as a background NPC.

They are travelling by the sea, they will come in the next patch after blizzard course correct their mess

There is no horde involvement besides Liadrin and haldrun tagging along other characters who arent horde

Because a CITY, is not a character, what a goober question.

If it was the other way around you would be liking

But not horde trolls, ironic enough

Yeah, its pretty glaring the absence of any Horde forces in this scenario. Its very artificial and forced to set a tone the writers want to set. Like, even if we ignore how even without “the Light”, BEs and NBs are masters of Portal Magic … what about our other EK Hordies at least? The Forsaken and Frostwolves are right there. Hell, if you’re going to plop the AU Mag’har into a place as nonsensical as Arathi, why not add them too? The reason there are no Horde, beyond the BEs, and about 5 Sunwalkers, is because Blizz deemed them inconvenient for the “Alliance Elves save the day, and thus Elven Unity is achieved” story they wanted.

Hell, the barely excuse they give for why Rokhan, who desperately needs development, cant be serving as an intermediary for Liadrin and the Amani is “The Amani and Darkspear are mortal enemies”. Since when? Even with Jin’s participation in Cata on behest of the Zandalari (who dunked the Gurubashi too), its THE most powerful Forest Troll tribe being “mortal enemies” with a Jungle Troll tribe that was once so weak and “low aggro” that it was starved and pushed out of its ancestral territories? That line purely exists to justify the lack of Horde Troll/Darkspear presence in Zul’aman’s story. Even when it would make total sense for them to be there.

Zul’Aman is the best bet

We got confirmation in an interview that Zul’jarra/Zul’jan will go forward with us in future expansions

Jarra/Jan’s grandma aka Zul’jin’s wife is a Horde Revantusk character

One of the Revantusk people in the zone, Nija Torntusk, is a Horde Revantusk character

Because they needed the mag’har there to “tell a Human story.” It all makes sense (it doesn’t).

Because the reason Silvermoon was redone was because they had planned a story with Alleria and her brood. It’s also why the Horde as a faction aren’t there. It’s also why the city is neutral. Why would they spend a little more and do a little more to give different sides actual story? Why not instead have this awkward arrangement?

I’ve seen you post very similar sentiments to mine, in regards to Zul’aman and the Amani. And we absolutely don’t disagree when it comes to that. It might just be that we’re both huge Amani fans, but Zul’aman was like 12/10.

I just wish any of the other zones were even remotely to that level. It’s unfortunately worlds apart. But damn, do I appreciate the effort, respect, and raw awesomeness they showed Zul’aman, the Amani, and Zul’jarra.

Hope you’re gonna roll an Amani with me when they’re finally released as a race/allied race. :winking_face_with_tongue:
(P.S. Darkspear customization still don’t count)

Thast the neat part yopu dont !

you mean afetr they go say hi toi player im still alive
and then stand there for eternity

I’m referring to the short stint they let us have with Thrall and Gazlowe in TWW.

and nightborne suspsoed to be IN silvermoon
and they ahev the best teleportaiton for leylmines which sunwell, is on
AND undercity also ahs its teleported connected to silvermoon

The root of this problem is that the A Plot for MSQ and Silvermoon/Eversong was given to a specific dev who was the lead on Gilneas Reclamation and Gilneas Heritage

And there’s nothing that can be done about that

That dev cannot be reasoned with. They don’t accept criticism. They don’t accept feedback. They don’t admit or recognize error.

Gotta love the copy-pasta Alliance troops there too. Hell, when I did that intro scenario, I kept running to Gnome Priests following this mass of NPCs too. Because this almost exclusively Alliance comprised army of the Light was flooded with Alliance Race generic NPCs; on top of the already huge cast disparity with their named roster.

There weren’t even any Zandalari Prelates present lol!

Rata and that’s it :stuck_out_tongue:

I do have a theory: the heavy alliance presence was in line with the idea that the Army of Light is, in fact, an Alliance force

That this expansion was meant to double down on the usual Alliance-as-default trope but also critique it; an alliance villain bat via their righteousness

But I have a feeling they’re gonna walk it back like usual out of fear, or mitigate it

Gosh, if only the Nightborne leader was like, romantically involved with a high-level Blood Elf NPC, y’know? Could you imagination the raw arcane devastation that couple could muster? It’d probably be next level.

If only there was some kind of coupling like that, somewhere, in the story. I’d hate to be their enemy if that was ever explored in the story.

What???

Did they say that actually?

You are joking, they cant retcon even that.

Remind that the zandalari have an entire order of paladins and their Queen is a priest

Yet they mention how they are missing manpower

They are indeed hanging out in the spire. They have no lines yet, but you can go look at them, lol.

While I appreciate you informing me about that, I can’t help but feel like even another small part of my love for Warcraft dies, knowing that. Hard to do anything but shake my head slowly and sigh.

It’s half my life now - playing World of Warcraft. Twenty years, at this point (Not to even speak of the years spent in WC3 and DOTA) - and seeing something that’s at least a little precious to you - just completely fumbled and mishandled, like this? I don’t get why these people have jobs - and especially question why they were ever hired in the first place.
