So when exactly does this grieving start? (SPOILER)

I can’t believe what I just saw, nor can I believe Jaina’s reaction - she was cold…I think the rumors of her being a dreadlord are true. RIP Khadgar.

He obviously is not going to be dead. They just had to “write him out” of the story for now. He’ll probably come back in TLT like Gandolf.

11.0.5 or maybe 11.1 if there’s a funeral. Could also be a part of the max level campaign. But the more likely option is he’s not dead, general rule of thumb if a big major character doesn’t have a dead body shown or a big glorious moment they are probably not actually dead.

Jaina is well aware that Khadgar (if he is really dead) is in Shadowlands where she spent quite a bit of time herself. So what’s to be sad about? Pelegos will probably send him off to Ardenweald to work with Ysear and the Winterqueen.

Thanks for the spoiler warning bruh (I already knew this, but I guarantee someone reading this won’t)

It looked like she sent him into some shadow realm or something… Maybe we will have to get there to help him get out. Maybe we battle Xal whilst he teleports a golem onto her.

I dont think wow will allow to have any white male heros at all anymore.

Ron Howard voice: he’s not dead.

maybe she knows something we dont. hard to tell.

if i saw kadghar die i wouldnt panic, there’s like a bunch of them apparently lol

She literally leaves in the same scene where she says grieving has to wait until the current fires are out. And doesn’t come back as far as the story goes so far.

Its weird to talk like she is constantly around brushing off Khadgar’s death, when it was instead a singular line said right before she goes ‘its gonna take me weeks to get the alliance reinforcements here’. And they still havent arrived by the end of the campaign.

did you see a corpse? If not he may of been abducted by Xal’atath for some purpose we don’t yet know.

Sums up quite well why Shadowlands should be removed from the canon story.

we saw his hand/arm desintegrate and were introduced to an npc with a prosthetic. i expect him to show back up and get help from them.
they also messed with the wisdomball pet, and i guess a wheelchair of his was datamined.

Which would be the best writing they’ve done in a while tbqh :joy:
I’m trying to find the parallels to the FFXIV storylines crossing multiple xpacs before concluding which worked really well for them and is how blizz came up with this idea.
For me, the ambiguity of Khadgar’s last moments we see hearkens back to when Menphilia in FFXIV is consumed by the light in ARR just to pop back up later.
I’d be happy if Khadgar pulls a Gandalf the White.

You sure about that? Cause he looked like he went out the same way Dalaran did.

One thing I refused to believe up until yesterday was that Dalaran was destroyed.

She’s the Aragorn to your Boromir upon the death of Gandalf (sorry spoilers). There will be time to grieve later when the immediate threat is over, which won’t be for some time.

I don’t know. Definitely looked like his body was disintegrating to me. A little bit of the ole Thanos snap-action

Plus, she destroyed all of Dalaran.

So, for him to be alive, he would have to have survived being disintegrated, followed by an attack strong enough to destroy an entire magical floating island.

On the other hand though, Xal has shown she really just loves driving the knife in (pun intended)

So she absolutely is the type to just have a void-corrupted Khadgar strung up somewhere for us to come across later down the line

The biggest issue with character death going forward is going to be that we already knows what’s going to come after. Cause when the initial scene took place, I had that shocked moment and I thought it was neat. It’s okay that major characters die. The issue is that now the canon is that also we can go visit said dead character whenever we want because we have already been to the afterlife. It cheapens character death, especially of someone major like Khadgar who we know is going to retain his body and be somewhere special in the afterlife like one of the four realms we visited.

Why? If someone decides they don’t like the Broken Isles should the Legion expansion be removed from the canon of the story?
