well, according to the one who writes on wowhead apparently, good dps demon hunters don’t run pathetically low 20’s! so, what does that tell you? and their word is law around here! shrugs

Your first comment is ignorant. Trying to equate top 3 of X specs vs 3 spots in a dungeon party composition is not only a logical error, but also indicative of the type of person that you are.
Difficulty is relative; not a single spec in this game is difficult.
Is mage more difficult than BM hunter? Objectively yes.
Is it more difficult than spriest in it current iteration? I think it depends on the mage spec and is pretty subjective based on who you ask.
The fact that you are asking that question is yet again indicative of you being either very uneducated or an angry troll.

how would you know tho? you don’t play spriest nor do you play high keys? 
Because youre complaining about DPS and how it equates to your worth. But the top DH is rated at 3766. Top Spriest is at 3702. Theyre keeping pace just fine. Any “feelings” that tell you otherwise is a reflection of your performance. You think the spec lacks because youre lacking.

SP is the worst it has been in a few expansions, but it is still doing alright.
I say this as an SP main who misses 10.0.7 shadow. Shadows aoe is pretty mid, but their ST is very strong
That how blizzard roll last season meta will last place in DPS tank and healer.
I tried Shadow in 15s. (Not high enough to test, i get it. But still)
I love popping VE and helping healer with heal checks, also viable with Afflicted - love, for self heal/survival we have decent options (Flash heal, Shield, Heal through DoTs, DR from Fade - Protective light, Shadowfiend party heal.
BUT it really felt like I was fighting for life keeping DoTs up and doing AoE just to keep up with my tank sometimes lol whereas when I play my BM, 1 single multi shot (no CD) and then ST rotation gives much more output.
Amount of effort and output doesnt match for Shadow. Thats all. BM is just much easier for AoE, easily pull 600k-700k at ilvl460 on good trash pack while running around avoiding all mechanics very easy.
Wish Shadow had insta cast like that lolol

The only thing that can be even slightly understood as ‘referencing them’ is saying they posted a video which I mentioned a couple times.
If mentioning someone posted a video (and not even of their own gameplay, but someone else’s) constitutes hero worship of THEM to you, then you’ve either got problems or you are a very disingenuous person, take your pick.
I didn’t “have to abandon” shadow. I just didn’t want to play SW:D. And realistically, considering how you’ve posted towards people who have cleared higher keys than you (oh no I’m referencing other people again!) on shadow itself, I don’t think if I was clearing 25s on shadow it would change how you approach the topic anyway. Even if I “proved” myself to shut down this asinine argument about how I “HAD to drop the spec” you’d just say my runs are misrepresentative - as you’ve already done.

Well, that 600k-700k is very specific situation. I had lust + Aug + big pull.
And yes, it IS very doable.

So i dont want to call the guy out…but hes run over 100 keys, and complaining about not being competitive.
I checked to see if he had any logs and theres a few public ones and hes doing tank damage at 475+ ilvl.
At 100 keys run you think youd have enough experience and attempts to iron out a few issues the class has.
120k dps in a 20 at 475+ ilvl isnt a class issue…

It’s clear you love 10.0 shadow since it’s just about the only topic you touch on this forum, but the bad player strawman isn’t why it happened.
The problem was that Mind Spike was added for people that want it to be an option, but the class was designed in such a way that it was absolutely mandatory and miserable in PvP. That’s a failure of design. The current version of Mind Spike feels worse, but only because they (rightly) brought it down to Mind Flay’s level and gave it just enough damage to justify it as functionally mandatory at all times anyway.
10.0.7 shadow was the best itteration shadow has ever seen, and nobody will ever change my mind on that. Just put it back to 10.0.7 or 8.3 shadow and call it a day plz
