So when does “classic” end?

Like MoP specs

I honestly see a universe where they skip Cataclysm entirely and stick with Classic definitions of Vanilla and WotLK, but use something like Time twisted for MoP and Legion ((maaaaybe WoD but WoD sucked)).

There will certainly be zero nostalgia value from BFA or Shadowlands.

You and I agree about the Chromie Time thing. If it actually worked properly, we wouldn’t need all of this Legacy server nonsense.

I’ll link this person’s thread about it, yes I commented in it agreeing with them:

You know what!
When Classic first came out I said the same thing

But then I was pointed to Cata private servers :person_shrugging:

Cata is really niche though. Don’t get me wrong, I would play Cata. But most of the surveys going out, people who mention they respond, are indicating they don’t care.

My exact words were:
“Classic Cataclysm? Heck yeah I’d play. I want to raid heal on my enhancement shaman again.”

lol wut? This would be incredibly bothersome if that was happening to me

It’s fairly uncommon, but it’s notably the klaxxi zone and raid. And the short sha raid*

The feelings are largely throne of thunder era, but it’s never anything specific from them. Running through the raids gives me some weird vibes.

Yes, such great choices, these higher ilvl items from bigger badder bosses not being better than trash found in a dumpster behind the post office in Stratholme.

Of course you are, you can’t defend Vanilla itemization.

I’ve been playing since Vanilla… I would not play Classic…too many Quality of Life changes in modern wow that I enjoy. .Only thing in Wrath or earlier I liked was the talent trees… But now we are getting those back (and better) in DF so… also… classic doesn’t have monks so… #monk4life #youhadmeatmonk

:person_shrugging: I guess we will find out what the survey’s said if Blizz makes it lol

I hear you and understand. I just miss pre-Cata old world. It’s the only reason I’m playing Classic, at all LOL

Classic should be ended with Wrath. Cataclysm essentially became WoW2 and the expansions after Cata were all iterative of Cata.

Now if only they would use Chromie time effectively and build in Classic to an option from her.

:grimacing:

Some people would argue with you there

People are quite upset that Blizz took away abilities and then added them to the tree instead of giving them new talents that modify abilities.

Artifact weapons.

(It’s the same feedback from Legion.)

My biggest concern is honestly that most talents are static 1-point nodes. You drop a point, you get a big bump. Something in me prefers to have a lot of smaller 10-point nodes with less meaningful individual decisions, but it builds up to something meaningful.

The number two issue, closely behind, is Blizzard HQ is still in charge of all number tuning and if you’re “playing wrong!”, they won’t fix your issues or worse, they’ll nerf your build back into its place. For example, I think a lot about Monk Tiger Palm, and how it has a talent for 50% damage next to a 10% FoF damage talent. Something tells me the intrinsic value of FoF enhancement will always be drastically higher because of the baseline spell tuning and AoE mechanic.

Oof, don’t mention Legion to me

There isn’t one expansion I totally hate but Legion tried its best to be the one

There should be servers that reset like every 5 years or whatever set amount after getting to Wrath. You can even add rewards once it resets. Not sure if characters would reset or have an option to move them but it would be fun to have this option, I think Everquest has it or had it?

Hopefully. I joked about Cata Classic some time back, but people seem to also be taking it seriously

So like Season of Mastery?

Beyond WotLK, the only era I’d probably feel like revisiting is MoP.
