We can do races there when are we getting actual Dragon riding in the old zones? I go to jump on an old mount and almost always start pressing my keys to dragon ride and have a moment where I’m like oh yeah got to fly the old crappy way. The Dracthry can soar everywhere so they’re just holding it back because what? It’ll be an exciting thing to announce?

I’m betting 10.2.5. Maybe even 10.2.7. I don’t think they’d put it in the same patch they add pathfinder for the passive flying in dragon isles, as I don’t think it will be something we have to unlock. And you know that if they added pathfinder to unlock passive flying while giving us universal dragon riding for free would be met with torrents of tears.

The way pathfinder is being handled in 10.2 is setting off little alarm bells that the devs might be starting to retreat into old mindsets. Hopefully I’m just being paranoid.

After Blizz adds a Pathfinder for it to be used outside the Dragon Isles. Only fair since they are adding a Pathfinder for regular flying in the Isles.
Maybe at launch with the next expansion?
Dumping it into the game before that point doesn’t really put much gas in the tank for Dragonflight unless there are also reasons to funnel players back into that older content where they might use it. They’ve got dragon racing in the old world but even that’s not available all of the time.

Question is are they going to give us an option to keep static flying. I’m probably one of the few that has never thought that it was slow. For my ADHD it’s been the best speed, allowing me to do other things or even hover while I was afk doing something else or paying attention to discord convos and the like.
Dragonriding wouldn’t have been so bad if they just presented us with the option from the word go at the start of the expansion. Kind of stupid that they didn’t. It honestly made druid flight form useless.

And they couldn’t do this for the dragon isles because…?
the dragonriding was the main focus for the expansion
and they thought it would stop the bots farming the nods but the bots can just fly without the mounts
