For those unaware: If you’re interrupted during an artifact weapon quest, for any reason, when you’re in a non-Legion area, then you’re unable to return to that area in order to resume the quest, effectively locking you out of that entire spec unless you reroll your character
Has Blizzard given any update on this? It’s kind of an important part of the expansion…
Its been discussed with the blues but there no real work around other then rerolling.
Just abandon the quest and start it over again? I had to do this a couple times on the Legion Remix. Annoying, but it is what it is…
Can’t. The quest that needs to be picked up (for me specifically) is in Duskwood. I can’t get to Duskwood because of the Legion Remix lock
It sucks but theres realy no fix as ur not suoosed to leave the broken shore except for a few circumstances
It depends on when you leave the area. If you haven’t turned in the quest that brought you to the area you can usually abandon that quest and retake it to get the means to travel again (mount, portal, scroll, etc…). However, if you already turned that in, you may be stuck and unable to return to that area.
We don’t have any ETA for any specific ones, sorry. I’ve seen several hotfixes go out that are in the process if being deployed to live, which should address some of those quest lines, but others are still being worked on. If you encounter one, please be sure to submit a bug report so we can make sure it is on QA’s radar.
Thank you for the response. If it’s of any help (and yes I did already submit a bug report on it) this is specifically for the Affliction Warlock artifact. I got slapped by one of those summoned doomguards during the escort. When I resurrected I couldn’t find the escort NPC anywhere, so I dropped the quest in order to retake it and start over, however he was not offering the quest anymore, so I hearthed back to Legion thinking I needed to start back over at the order hall, and have been stuck there since
Its possible you already did this, but make sure in your bug report, that you provide/include clear steps on how to duplicate the exact situation that resulted in the issue your facing, as one of the keys for them to fix it is to replicate the issue, so they know what they have to fix. While it’s probable they already have that information step by step instructions on how to duplicate a bug are always helpful, and make it easy for them to confirm something is an actual bug.

This is still a problem and its already 12 days later from your post. Nothing was fixed with a hot fix, nor with the recent Tuesday maintenance window we had yesterday.
Bliz needs to provide a way for folks to be able to pick up their artifact weapons because its their bug not the player’s bug. I’m still unable to obtain the artifact weapon quest that bugged out on me nor even any way to get my third weapon quest for my Demonology spec.
I already submitted a bug report, but as in-game bug reports go, we never hear anything back, and I have seen nothing elsewhere providing information anything will even be done to rectify this problem.
That’s mainly how it goes; they don’t reply to bug report posts unless they need more info. The report isn’t a means to talk to someoen nor get personal updates.
Unfortunately, whatever is causing the issue doesn’t appear to be as obvious as QA would like so they are having trouble reproducing it from what I’ve seen.
I have seen a note that some folks have gone back to complete the Legion intro that culminates with " In the Blink of an Eye." When they do that they are able to select an Artifact Weapon quest.
I don’t know if that will resolve the issue, but it might be worth a try if you haven’t already.
But if I have already completed the Legion Intro, how on earth will I be able to reacquire it since its done? Unless its repeatable which I have never seen for an intro, there needs to be another way.
UPDATE: Early yesterday morning when I logged on and checked back at Deadwind Pass where my aff weapon quest bugged out on me, I noticed that the two npc’s at the Kara entrance actually had some quest markers over their heads, which were not available the day before. It appears Bliz may have actually been able to fix the problem as I was able to reacquire my artifact weapon quest for my affliction spec.
That questline is somewhat lengthy although not actually difficult. I remember it from back in the original Legion quest which was more difficult. However, I was finally able to get my affliction artifact weapon collected and completed. Keeping in mind to be in the spec necessary to actually interact with that questline.
The artifact weapon quest for the demonology spec was available in my class hall once I turned in the adjacent quest that accompanied the afflic one. So now I have all three spec artifact weapons.
So glad that Bliz was able to unblock that questline that bugged out. I have no idea how they did it or what it took to provide that questline again. Perhaps because, as a last resort I abandoned it to see if I could reacquire it the day it bugged out, which of course led to a rather lengthy bug report in-game and here on the forums.
You can have a pair of druids summon you to Duskwood with a summoning scroll, as they can get there via teleporting to the emerald dreamway and exiting through the Duskwood portal. [Being summoned into the Dreamway does not work, as non-druids will just get put to sleep and booted to Val’Sharah.]
Another option might be to go to Karazhan [the portal to it is down the stairs from where you drop off the pillars of creation] and fly north until you reach the road into Duskwood, then fly into Duskwood. If you get the ‘Leaving timeline, turn back!’ warning, ignore it and just fly as fast as you can toward the road or where you picked up the quest in Duskwood. You have about 10 seconds of being ‘out of bounds’ before being booted to Legion Dal.
