It’d actually have been funny if they let us fly but there’s a ton of rockets flying around and hitting one of them is instant death.
Granted it would result in a ton of complaints, but it’d be a funny mechanic to prevent flight.

Actually, it does.
The “slow” car is 400.
The detail of course is that you can’t travel “as the crow flies” at that speed.
Honestly I feel this could’ve been such an easy W on their part “lorewise”. I mean one of campaign quests is Alleria being held at the main gate because of dangerous weapons. How hard is it for them to just stick a bunch of high level elites in the air like Mechagon and say they patrol to have eyes in the sky on the city because of so much corruption? Idk, anything is better than our mounts just not being able to fly randomly.
Sure, efficiency isn’t everything, but in a game where movement speed directly affects how much you can accomplish, it matters a lot. If you’re farming, questing, or navigating a city like Undermine, faster travel means less wasted time and more progress.
Saying ‘there’s more to life than efficiency’ sounds nice, but if that were truly the case, why do we use flying at all? Why not walk everywhere? Because speed and convenience matter.
If flight is slower and doesn’t provide a real advantage in Undermine, then the argument for it is based purely on sentimentality, not practicality. That’s fine for personal preference, but that preference doesn’t outweigh a better, faster system.
our mounts cause the Ion virus. Its highly contagious, lethal to “fun”, and the only known cure is the power called “Money” plummeting. Once it falls far enough the almighty divine god only known as “Ion’s boss” comes down and smites the virus.
Literally no one said remove the car. Everyone is entitled to play the game how they want. Is my point.
Because flying is fun?
Just because flying is fun for some doesn’t mean it needs to be forced into every zone, especially when there’s already a movement system that works better within Undermine’s design.
I dont think we should be able to fly normal mounts in the undermine its not that large. but ID definately like a lazer pack to move around in the air
Goblins are asking too much for a flying permit, our characters just can’t pay it.
Is it stated anywhere?
I always thought that the speed of travel is limited by how quickly the game can load in assets and how quickly the server can send information about a new area.
If we can speed at 1200% on the ground, Blizzard has been holding out in us with regards to flight.
I think the excuse in WoD was the “atmosphere is different”. Yet the same gryphon that I had in my collection as my garrison refused to fly. Undermine is a goblin zone, so maybe the atmosphere really IS polluted this time.
Just like all the other times their excuse is because they said so. It’s as simple as that. I think it’s silly too. But there’s a lot of people writing similar threads seeking some grand answer . It’s simple they don’t want us flying in that area. That’s it.
I have non living mounts. Even some spectral mounts. Heck…I have a few brooms.
Nah.
It’s because flying let’s you bypass everything in the environment and drop down right on your objective. Basically it’s easy mode WOW.
Another day, another thread…
Flying. When some people randomly care about lore
kind of feels good to stay on the ground
because it’s more fun for me.
I don’t care about efficiency.
I prefer flying.
Trust me, after seeing the new shop mounts, I could not even BEGIN to describe what sort of illicit recreationals this team is imbibing.
They should have allowed flight to any player with any one of the goblin rockets, including the Big Red Love Rocket.
