I’m not fat, just big chicken boned!
They should have just reworded the error to say “You cant mount here so it takes you longer to do everything” that way we wouldn’t be able to argue against the logic behind it.
In the next expansion the developers will remove all forms of movement. We’ll just sit in one spot and the expansion will last infinitely long. Occasionally a quest giver or vendor will wander by our spot to spice things up a bit.
“Giving players the ability to walk was a mistake.” – WoW developers.
You probably threw a piston. Maybe you should get an engineer to look at it.
they won’t nerf it. people get a mount after level 8 torghast and there’s npcs you can kill and mount in torghast already. they could have disabled it all for the first couple of weeks but then they would have had to revert it anyways.
all it would have done is shifted the QQ to other mobility abilities anyways.
Sandstone Drake needs to be usable in the maw. You’re right, it’s only fair.
It doesn’t make sense. It’s just a timegating mechanic because the content is very shallow.
My chopper usually comes out of my back left pocket because reasons…
My motorcycle ignores me.
Don’t forget the Obsidian Nightwing from refer a friend!
“Behold! The Recruit-A-Friend program has unleashed an all new reward mount—the swift and sleek Obsidian Nightwing. Unlike most other mounts, the Obsidian Nightwing is not a mount you summon, but rather a mount that you become, enabling you to take to the skies with a friend riding on your back. And who wouldn’t want to ride (or transform into) a winged panther?”- From the old refer a friend page.
Just kill on of the enemy that is mounted and you can use his mount for a short time in the Maw. Its really that easy.
They compensated by keeping the zone small compared to other zones. It is actually much faster to walk around the opening part of the Maw than it is to ride around the opening part of Bastion.
It’s for gameplay reasons. They want the maw to feel threatening. It’s not threatening if you can ride by everything.
Whether or not they succeeded in that goal is another story.
Remember in Vanilla when there would barely be any druid players then after they were buffed in BC, continuously made OP and easier to play…
…everyone became a professional druid player?
Our pets are kept in our top pockets (cute yeah I think of them this way)
Our mounts are summoned to join us, aid us from afar so they can’t go where we go or perhaps they need a whip!
The mount restriction happened because people complain about not being able to fly every single xpac.
As has been said in this thread before, then take out stealth from druids and rogues. Camo as well. They ignoring things I can not. It upsets me. I want everything gone from this game that upsets me. Make one class that can do all the classes roles. I hate flavor.
Again, I’m going to argue that they have adjusted for the lack of mounting by shortening the distances you have to move for quests. The overall time you are taking is the same (or less) than in mounted zones. It is just the psychological effect of not being able to mount that is the issue.
Back in Legion I used to think that purposefully bloated playtime metric-based game design was a conspiracy… and maybe it was. But now it isn’t.
I have to admit your logic is spot on in regard to mechanical mounts and your character turning into a mount. Honestly I feel the “can’t mount” in the Maw is not needed and should go bye bye. It feels like a deliberate annoyance.
