Is Aln’hara Azeroth?
Did she encased herself in those cocooning roots above Harandar to defend herself from the void lords? Are the world trees a creation of hers to shield herself and give powers to the creatures on the surface? I was finishing the Harandar item quests and it is clear this Aln’hara used to speak to her people then quit. But if they “meditate” and concentrate they say she is still there. Did Titans came to do good and help her or were they trying to take her to their side (unbalancing things).
Man, sorry for all the questions but I have so many doubts but I suck at understanding stories (ngl sometimes I skip reads and later regret it)
Is it clear in Midnight what’s going on or is it still a secret to be solved?
I think that’s absolutely it. The “cradle” is where Azeroth’s soul rested in its infancy. She was, I’m willing to bet, ripped out by all the Titan installations on the planet and is now vaguely imprisoned as they try to make her into a titan or somesuch.
I believe there’s also some ambiguity if the Cradle structure is Azeroth’s own, or if it was Elun’ahir (a gift from Elune, planted by Eonar) and then the world trees that grew around her - If the latter, they could be the cosmic power of Life’s own attempts to influence the world soul before the Old Gods or the Titans got there.
Knowing Blizzard it will be the latter. However the dialogue from Archaedas’ recordings from TWW does open up the possibility they moved Azeroths World Soul to the ‘World Core’ to help purge any void corruption the Old Gods may have caused. As Archaedas notes that according to Khaz’goroth, the Old Gods (mainly Y’shaarj tbh) did manage to install some void corruption into Azeroth.
The great Khaz’goroth revealed to me that the corrupting influence of the imprisoned Old Gods was affecting the Worldsoul. To protect it, we had the earthen construct the Worldcore–a vast chamber at the heart of the world. There, the Worldsoul will slumber, with only the titans to influence it.
Side note: Given that it is implied that the Chamber of the Heart is close to the World Soul, I suspect we will be revisting the Chamber sometime soon. As it might be part of the World Core structure. If MOTHER is still there watching over the Worldsoul… we might have to fight her again if she has fallen under Xal’ataths thrall. Hell, the Chamber of the Heart might be the location of where we fight Midnights final raid boss in 12.2.
Wee might have to fight her even if she hasn’t. The Titans got a good few smacks with the villain bat since last we quested with her, so she might get hostile if we players do something against the Titan’s plans and/or if Aman’thul orders her to stop us.
I’d give her a 60% chance of fighting us, 40% chance to rebel against the Titans because of the power of friendship and join us.
I am not even sure all the Titans will be on the ‘Titan side.’
Everything we have suggest that the Titans truly believed Azeroth was a Titan. So, the question is, how many of the Titans were a similar situation? Maybe some of them would not have become Titans without external influence. I could see a split and some of them rejecting the Titan plan.
The name of the next expac raises a real question. How are we going to have a ‘last Titan’ if there are multiple Titans? It would suggest to me that most are either going to die or stop being Titans. And that second option adds some interesting possibilities.
Yeah - I’m betting Eonar will be on our side, one way or another. She’s already been framed in the Emerald Dream chapter as being the other-power-friendly, non-totalitarian Titan as compared to Aman’thul. For the others, we’ll have to see where they fall.
I’m definitely expecting that we’re going to fight Aman’thul, though. I’d give him only a 20% chance to not fight us, and 15% of that chance is Iridikron killing him rather than us doing so.
If the “Last Titan” means that Azeroth will be the last Titan standing by the end of the story, then I’m expecting Iridikron to take out Eonar and/or the other player-friendly Titans so that we players won’t have to fight them as well as the hostile Titans.
I don’t think she is. Blizzard has been strongly hinting she is not actually a Titan.
I have a hard time seeing Blizzard doing that much killing. Mass killing the Titans just doesn’t seem like something we will see. Some number of Titans will probably die. But all of them? I am skeptical. Especially with so little build up. A lot of Titans will have to die quickly for it to all happen in an expac.
I think some of them will go the way of some form of rejecting the Titanness of it all and not being a Titan.
Completely agree. I felt like that was heavily setup in Dragonflight. I will be very surprised if we don’t fight him.
Might be both, us fighting him and Iridikron kill stealing. I could see that end, especially if it involves Iridikron grabbing some power from his corpse.
I’m not too sure about that. Remember the alternative ‘timeline’ where the Titans ‘won’ from the time rift event in Dragonflight? It was overrun with life, to the point that titanic watchers were being attacked by flora and fauna alike. And the time rift boss tied to that future was Freya. If anything, it doesn’t actually sound like one where the Titians ‘won’. More like Life won through the Titans. Aka Eonar and Freya were used as pawns.

Before the Titans left this world, they documented clear procedures for escalation with regards to most issues. Due to unanticipated aggression from the local wildlife, some of these procedures are no longer available. Currently, the most effective method of escalation is raising your voice very loudly. This has a zero point five percent success rate in summoning assistance. Please note: this may also summon additional deadly creatures to your location.
And remember, the book that talked about Elun’ahir and Aman’thul ripping it out says that it is unreliable on its cover. Meaning the author might have a clear bias towards the cosmic force of life. It might be possible that the timeline mentioned above was the result of Elun’ahir not being ripped out.
Now do I think this indicates that Eonar will also share the villain bat in TLT? No. Because given Blizzards recent track record they wouldn’t do that. Actually, that makes me wonder… have we ever had a major or main antagonist officially confirmed to be LGBT+ in WoW yet?
TL;DR: Aln’hara is almost certainly Azeroth. The side quests add that she once communed with the Haranir and even had a dragon-serpent companion. The Titans’ true intentions are still intentionally ambiguous, and it feels like Blizzard is setting that up alongside Iridikron’s story rather than answering it yet.
I think this would make an interesting story either for good or bad; bad in discovering they are creatures who somehow managed to take their planet’s power to themselves and now go around doing the same with others. Or Good; they indeed created all those facilities to contain the old god who reached her in the rift of Aln and they relocated Azeroth to those roots on top of Harandar (or may Azeroth did that herself) "screams in fan excitement".
I noticed when exploring Harandar if you get to close to the bright roots on top, you get knocked off and wake up in a safe place. If you fly near the rift of Aln you get a warning and then die. It could be nothing or could be intentional idk.
Edit 1. Ohh this would be so amazing! Itnwould explain why some of the “original creatures” started praying to Elune and maybe changing with its power (maybe they witnessed she acted as a guardian). And why some went deep into the roots to take care of her.
Edit 2. Crazy idea here. What if Azeroth has become tainted with void, meaning she is no longer a pure Titan of Light, not bad not good, just…er Wild, as it was meant to be. Titans and their robot structures speak of permanence and rigidity. Life, as in flesh eating flesh , is violent but caring at the same time. Maybe some titans will despide this but Eonar will see the natural balance of it and support it, idk as I said crazy idea…
Tbh I haven’t been interested in a story in a longntime since WoTLk and this got me hooked. I hope they do a good story out of this I really do.

There is some question if any World Souls are/were actually Titans. It is possible the realm of Order influenced one World Soul (Aman’Thul) and turned him into a Titan. From there all the rest of the Titans were World Souls that were turned into Titans by Aman’Thul and the successive Titans. That might have been their original plan for Azeroth. It is even possible none of them are actually aware they have been changing World Souls. They just see themselves as helping future Titans develop.
