So what is the "big feature" of Shadowlands supposed to be?

i saw a vampire, so probably gonna have sanlayn ally race?

People are streaming it now at Blizzcon. No new classes, races and talents seem to all be the same but scaled down obviously.

It’s not just about levels, it’s about all the content that could overwhelm someone joining the game right now.

One example is flying: Artisan Riding costs 5k gold, then WoD, Legion and BfA each have their own Pathfinder achievements. It’s a mess right now and it’s something that they can fix with the level squish.

Even with 60 levels taking longer it’s still less intimidating and overwhelming for new players.

How does making one number smaller alleviate either of those issues?

This a thousand times this, I’m so tired of being burned by promises that turned to dust. I’ve always had issues with Blizzard but usually they work themselves out over time. For me it was the promise of “We’re not gonna allow flying at launch (WoD) but it will become avail later”. We all know how that turned out, several lies about it not being an option and suddenly it’s there with an irritating grind. I’m definitely waiting for more information before I decide to buy or pass. I won’t lie the HK fiasco IS on my mind as well.

My favorite reporting of something like this was back when Simcity came out and they covered it as a natural disaster. Heck, it’s even listed as Simcity Disaster Watch.

sounds like diablo

They’ve been trying for years to turn WoW into Diablo, this is just another step.

There is a level squish to 50 when the xpac starts, the max level being 60.

The information on the pre-order page is extremely sparse. It makes me suspect the game isn’t as far in development as it should be, and if that’s the case, i hope they have the sense to push it back to a late 2020 release rather than giving us a pared-down, half-finished expac just to make a summer release.

Honestly I don’t want to be a “negative nancy” but it’s hard to be excited when your friends list gets greyer and greyer and “time last online” gets longer and longer. I’m not saying I won’t buy it but I need A LOT more information before I feel comfortable putting money down.

That’s because it was… I still managed to play and enjoy it but if you weren’t early and claimed a good plot you were screwed. If someone stopped playing you were still screwed. The Co-op option was cool but the limited space absolutely sucked.

This is blind speculation. At least wait for the panels before you blindly assume.

I’m not giving them money to watch there pannels, they’ve already swindeled enough out of me with BFA. Heck they are sending dev’s onto the forums to fish for Blizzcon online ticket purchases bc they are “holding back the good stuff” for the panel.

Huh well i don’t have a virtual ticket and I’ve been able to watch all of the videos including the D4 one that ended about 45min ago… must be magic.

Apparently, no new talents either.

The big feature is more monetization and tiered pre-order package cash grab stuff.

new zones are:
cyber-vrykul land
scourge land
druid land
and vampire land
so… 4 zones.

  1. The article about the expansion on the main site is far more informative than the actual expansion site for some reason.

Explore the Realm of the Dead: For the first time ever in World of Warcraft, players will cross into the Shadowlands and experience the wonders and horrors of the afterlife across five new zones—the gleaming fields of Bastion, the scarred battlefields of Maldraxxus, the eternal twilight of Ardenweald, the opulent keeps of Revendreth, and the horrific Maw.

It’s following the usual release script:

  1. It’s only the announcement
  2. It’s only alpha
  3. It’s only beta
  4. It’s only launch
  5. It’s only 9.1 guys
  6. It’s only 9.1.5 guys
  7. It’s only 9.2 guys
    Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.
