You guys seriously underestimate how popular fresh start servers are lmfao.
You sound tough. Thatās hot.
The majority have quit TBC because they canāt faceroll.
Once they see that season of mastery is classic but worse they will quit it too.
This thread is cringe as OP.
Iām replying to this comment (and the thread in general) but the OP was basically a troll OR he posted in the wrong forum so itās fine that people are disagreeing with him. Most of the people I know who play TBCC will not be playing SoM.
I donāt know how well it will do either. SoM may fail. Iām going to play it anyway because I have time to do so and it doesnāt cost extra. I can get a āfull game experienceā in TBCC (in other words - clearing the raids with my guild, 10 arena games with friends) in about 6 hours a week if I want.
Raiding is good in TBCC Iāll give you that. The current raid content can also be cleared in a few hours depending on the raid group and thatās it for the week. After that raid, Iād say about 85% of the population logs off and does other things until the next week. This is good or bad depending on what you like. Retail raiding is also good but it comes with chores so things are the opposite.
As for PVP, I know a lot of people playing SoM for PVP. Iāve unfortunately found the TBCC PVP experience to be not great and mostly unenjoyable for what I want. I am playing SoM mainly to have a world environment I find fun and be around an actual PVP community.
TBCC obviously has arenas and I can tell from your previous posts that youāre a big arena player so thatās fine and I respect people who love arenas, but believe it or not different people like different things.
Iāve found both BGs and the world environment to be pretty boring in TBCC. BGs are one side that gives up most of the time therefore for me the vast majority of BGs are not fun at all. The world environment, well there is no wpvp on a 99% server so itās boring. The server Discords are boring because there is no faction rivalry there. itās just guilds attacking each other for clear speeds which is meh. So yes I find all of this to be very boring.
So thatās my take on it. There are people playing SoM that didnāt want to play Classic again right away for a reason.
unfortunately for me, the raid log time allowed me to discover ffxiv and so thats what iāll be playing instead of som
Iām sorry to hear that.
haha its definitely not for everyone thats for sure
The full scripted raids is what I donāt like.
Every boss is always the same for everyone.
Starting a new job, gonna have drastically less playtime, so wonāt be rolling pvp server.
I will protect you
itās like a really long and interactive netflix show for me. final fantasy was fun for me as a kid so the appeal is there in that way
People saying it will die in 3-4 weeks are being way too hopeful. SoM wonāt last past 2 weeks before it dies. I wouldnāt waste my time if I were you. If you are sick of TBC just wait for WOTLK Classicā¦ donāt go backwardsā¦
Keep huffing the copium rofl.
Prog servers have always done well.
Fresh starts are a massive attraction not peopleās even EverQuest pulls in massive numbers every year because they launch a new prog server every March.
Yāall really are clueless when it comes to new prog servers.
I loved all the old FF games FFX being my favorite, itās a shame the franchise went away from turn based combat.
I think Som will do OK too, I donāt know for sure. It doesnāt cost extra so whatever.
People seem to want SoM to fail because they arenāt going to be playing it. I donāt really get that attitude of wanting it to fail or being nasty to those who want to play it (You are just playing SoM because you arenāt as skilled as me!!) but I guess I can see them responding to the OP like that since itās a troll.
SoM will do fine. Just recently private servers for vanilla opened and did well.
This is to compete with those, not TBC.
Private servers attract a different crowd of people and mostly International players. But good luck to you SoM fans I hope you get what you are hoping for.
I wonāt be playing SoM. Sounds awful and short lived. TBC is still fun for now. Iād play purely retail before considering vanilla classic.
And if I wanted vanilla classic Iād be playing it right now. SoM is clearly not for players like me because I donāt understand the desire for FRESH. Better things to do with my time.
The goal of it is to just have fun I donāt know why people dig so far into meaning of things thatās literally the goal of these progression servers no matter which one youāre on.
Nothing you do on any of them transfers into retail so eventually you will quit because the game will get to a point you donāt like either by an expansion or another reasonā¦
