No. I’m saying you’re right to be disappointed. But I don’t care personally.
Define we’re, because I’ve had a couple sets for a while now, and am eagerly awaiting Undead heritage armor.
To each their own. I believe two different teams can make both parties happy and it doesn’t have to be one or the other. Here’s hoping we both get what we want.
Honestly the only item of any value or substance from the Q&A was the ion announcement about flying being account-wide, the rest of it was the usual/useless “fluff” questions
I was listening in to it, but got bored pretty quick and tuned out due to all the useless/fluff questions being addressed.
As a side-note, it was hilarious keeping an eye on the live stream chat (off to the right), which was overwhelmingly dominated by “solo queue” spam from the viewers.
does anyone know if they’re still implementing the night elf armor from the vanilla WoW cinematic? i swear i saw something about it, and can’t find it anymore. like a couple years ago :\
hope that’s still gonna happen tbh
After originally being a promised BfA feature…
They added an NPC set that looks like it from the Darkshore Warfront. It’s unavailable to players :<

thx you for that! this is it!
so not for players? well that’s not cool…i need it since i’m a night elf…
Did they say which races will be getting their heritage armor next?
I know pandaren are probably going to be last, but this at least gives me hope that they’ll get theirs eventually.
I missed the part where they said heritage sets coming, are we certain it’s still happening?
I honestly have no confidence for this dev team. None. They are the worst stewards for Azeroth, ever. Worst. Ever. I don’t want to say I hate them… because I don’t hate them as people but I truly dislike their role as the dev team.
They want to nickel and dime (yay! cloning characters from classic ↔ TBC is going to cost… $$!) and they want to put in as little effort as possible AND they never keep an inkling of a promise OR even a good-will gesture. You guys saving allied race customization for that break-glass moment? Is that what you think you’ll need later?
I’m gonna rant for a bit on the forums then I’m out. Good thing FF XIV has a free weekend going. Might burn some hours on that tomorrow to see if it will fill the groove that WoW is going to vacate. I also need to go find the synopsis from the Q&A - mmochamp have it up?
i wish there were more answers on this too tbh…i totally forgot about heritage armor - they haven’t really talked about it in much detail since like mid bfa i think…
they should def release some sort of timeline for us. i’d assume players still care about this sort of thing?
anyway i think night elves should be next imo since we took that hit to Teldrassil and we are homeless now…at least give us some clothes ya know?
I just dislike the idea that you either ONLY have to care about “casual” things like transmog/heritage armor/race customizations OR mythic raiding, mythic + and pvp balance. Why can’t we care about all of those things? Part of the fantasy of an mmo is creating characters that really speak to you. Then playing with those characters in the contexts you enjoy.
If the art team literally is only 4 ppl as some were saying in the forums – why not make it an opportunity to hire ppl specifically for this ongoing project? Or have them work on it alongside other projects? Its kind of evergreen. The only reason is that they don’t think its lucrative enough. Its pretty sad tbh. So much wasted potential.
Found it here:
Of note:
Customization in Shadowlands
- There are no plans right now to add more race/class combinations in Shadowlands, but never say never.
- The team will add more customization options in the future for races that didn’t get as much in Shadowlands.
- More heritage armor will be added in the near future while some might still be further off.
This was interesting too:
Faction Imbalance
- The faction imbalance has become a social issue that will likely require a social solution and it is a top priority for the team.
- They don’t quite have a way to address it yet, but recognize it is a problem that needs to be addressed.
- The faction balance is actually pretty even when it comes to amount of players. It is only for participation in high-end activities that skews majorly to Horde.
- Ion says “never say never” in regards to the option of letting Horde and Alliance play together eventually.
- There is still faction identity when selecting which faction you identify with and not having to worry about cutting yourself off from your friends.
Those two things are HUGE yikes from me. The faction imbalance is a social issue? Like you’re blaming your players for this one? Really? And the customizations… that was painful. I’m just gonna wrap this up now. I’ll pass out some likes and call it a night.
Russians working out of their basement could make customizations faster for Warcraft than the devs ever could.
That they can’t give us straight answers tells me that the corporate morons haven’t approved it or have decided that sinking the resources into it isn’t worth it.
Wall of text posts where you quote 30 different things are annoying. Nobody likes those
This is why it takes an expansion’s theme to be customization and still it’s not even close and why our races have less options than a 2001 game.
Customization and game development are two different things. People want to only raid not caring? Cool, that’s valid. But also is customization. The fact that it takes SO much for Blizz to do something of it speaks quite bad of this company in my opinion (regarding that, as like I said, the game has cool things too). Worse if we add the other problems it has.
It is good to hear it addressed in some way. I had also submitted a question asking about it. My hopes are for draenei and trolls next. I figure humans, orcs, night elves and forsaken are pretty well covered for race themed armor after the BFA warfronts.
We already got a load of customization at launch. If the reason they’re not doing more is COVID or just them leaning hard into finishing 9.1, then so be it. I just don’t care nor need new hairstyles right now. That’s my point.
This kinda implies it may come after shadowlands unfortunately.
Guess I’ll be waiting a while on customizations. ._.
