Currencies to get what?
I mean, really, it’s a multi million dollar company. At the very least it could of been communicated with us via a simple post or included in a post. Just because YOU assumed and weren’t surprised, doesn’t mean that there aren’t new players who didn’t know, who didn’t play back then who were. That’s like, assuming everyone who plays wow has been playing for years and years which is not the case.
no obviously not lol, season 2 has not actually started yet we do not have s2 catalyst charges
And… by starting this you have already lost the plot.
Never start with this. Ever.
I’m not reading the nonsense you are saying after this because “it is a multi million dollar company, therefore they can produce magic with their knees and pretend that code works like unicorn sparkley pony dust.”
There’s never been a single good-faith argument made on this forum that begins with that statement. Doesn’t matter if you are right, doesn’t matter if you are wrong - you are arguing in bad faith based on a perception that money somehow is a magical dust able to change 20+ year old code.
Crests and Valorstones are a currency for what? To upgrade what? Gear. Are you following why your logic doesn’t work?
You CAN produce magic with your knees, if you have a trick knee or two.
I approve of this.
Not super helpful, telling people after-the-fact. Maybe confirm this for folks a week ahead of time?
They’re absentee clockwork gods. They spunup the world and it’s out of their hands now somehow.
You mean the blue post in this thread? Ya, that would have been helpful before the patch went live.
All the blue communication the past few weeks have been vague as heck as to what will be happening.
P.S. Frankly, I can only imagine the shock for players who don’t frequent these forums. There is no communication at all in-game, none that I noticed, about what’s will happen this patch.
why not include this information in the detailed blue post about what was and wasn’t staying the week of the 25th vs 4th? seems like a pretty important thing to leave out
Their internal comms are obviously a mess.
Uh, I’m not taking about CODE, im talking about the fact that they are a well known company that makes millions and adding in a communication line that states that we will not be able to upgrade anything during the week of Feb 25th we get from the vault is something that an established company making millions would do for customers. Let’s be real here customer service is NOT one of blizzards strong suits and that has nothing to do with code lol it has to do with customer service.
I legit have had better customer service from the corn man that honks his horn down my street detailing exactly what he’s putting on my when I ask him than blizzard has ever, that should be indicative of something terribly wrong.
One can only clarify people’s confusion once AFTER confusion has occurred. So… yes. Again, since this has been how things have worked since SL’s upgradeable gear (but honestly it goes even further back because of how it relates to M+ we can actually extend this reasoning all the way back to Legion) … this is common knowledge.
So for those who doesn’t know that, Kaivax is clarifying it for ya’. Hell, they are also throwing a bone to you saying that they will look into how to make upgrade transitions better in the future. They could’ve said “this is how seasons work” but they didn’t.
… most players don’t frequent these forums. The number of people who read these forums is roughly 0.02% of the playerbase. Folks read Wowhead at a higher rate of about … 5-20% (there’s a larger range since there’s a lot to influence whether people read something news-related online or not) so…
None of this is particularly surprising. Folks who are surprised about it in-game say something and then move on. Because that’s typically what people do, whether they grumble about it or not.
I hate the one week transition period… U_U I really just like running keys, so hopefully I can still do that? but having the upgrade system completely dead for a week will definitely hurt the pool of players looking to play… I never understand how blizzard thinks these things are good for their game. Out of touch to say the least.
You can still run S1 keys, which is the point of the transitional week.
I wouldn’t have bothered filling my vault last week if I knew. It was a slap in the face to finally get some trinkets after none all season and be unable to upgrade them to be usable. You should have added another way to upgrade them or warned people ahead of time.
should just be season 2, don’t need a dead week
You can avoid any confusion at all if you tell people in detail what’s will happen and answer any questions they have before the patch goes live.
Again, not everyone was around for that.
Also past behavior is not indicative of future behavior.
Except when it is.
But if there’s been a pattern for the past 6 in-expansion season transitions in a row, in the absence of any post informing the players of a break in the pattern, you should expect that the pattern continues.
