I didn’t choose Belf because of how they look or their lore. But to level with friends.
But their underdog story is great. Most of their people taken out, city destroyed. They still kept going on. Kept fighting.
They’re not getting normal hair colors. They got the skin tones and the eyes. Good enough.

Without the blonde hair, i don’t think so. You migh think is something absurd, but trust me. im writing about the psychological patrons of the Horde players, and the races what they choose. Ask some blood elfs players why they choose them, and they are going to say “because they looks cool or something like that” but, ¿What it means “looks cool”? or how they say; blood elfs have the “best look” in the game? ¿We do not have to many races that “looks cool”? Or is because for the society standars, if you are white and blonde, you looks beautiful… Believe me. Im study this for years. Even they don’t know why they choose blood elves, they have not good reasons for join the Horde as a blood elves. Otherwise, why is the 50-70% of the horde players blonde Blood elfs?
not good enough. as long as my velf still only has velf hairstyles, she looks like a velf, regardless of haircolor. i’d be willing to have pastel haircolor options if we cant have normal elf haircolors… but honestly, that velf hair no matter skin color, looks like a velf.

I play both blood elf and void elf. It’s good enough. Void elves are not high elves. You will never 100% look like one. You will survive.

You fans of the german guy with the funny moustache are so annoying. Everyone knows you want to be white, blonde and have blue eyes. The horde is there waiting for you.
Void Elves already have pale skins yet you see threads asking for “dark ranger” options for Blood Elves every now and then.
These type of people won’t be satisfied until the whole player base are blonde elf paladins.

There are situations where player character sound like something that breaks immersion and ruin the aesthetic.
For example, just recently on the ptr I found out the Velf male matches this character far more than the belf male voice.
While the Velf male sounds Charming, Cunning, Deceptive.
Well the belf male sounds like something from a Harry Potter animated parody.

I see a lot more red-headed Belves around than blonde or my hair color.
And who said that? I don’t remember Blizzard ever saying that. I do remember them saying there main focus was mainly on the core races for the start, and customisations are an on-going process, but I never heard them say Allied Races were never going to get any customisations.
belfs didnt 100% look like them either till blizz gave them the options to add helf eyecolors, which i agreed with, btw. but it was said both belfs and velfs would get customizations to make them look like helfs if they wanted. as long as velf options are tentacle hair and void hair colors, skin color is not enough
Void Elves are High Elves. Blood Elves are High Elves. There is nothing stating anything in lore differently.

During Blizzcon when they mentioned the customizations. They stated that it’d only go to core races. Allied races could get something later.

Sure. But void elves are still permanently changed by the void, and will still have tentacle hair. Which is good.
And then you look at the NPC’s inside the rift, especially the High Elves Wayfarers and Blood Elves scholars. No tentacles on them. Normal Hair colors and stuff for them too.
