So uhhhhh, the anniversary buff?

Why does it matter what happened years ago?

You’re not forced to do the event, but yes they are driving people to do a social event. Why is this surprising in an mmo?

Leveli g has never been faster, stop crying, it’s silly.

Something is up. I swore it was higher than 10%

If this is true it says a lot

Why do you care so much if people criticize a change that was unnecessary? Like what do you get for white-knighting for blizz, being one of those “complaining about complainers”?

You can try to invalidate my opinion all you want with “who cares” or “stop crying” but obviously people care and I’m definitely not crying, just calling out what I think is uninspired and lazy development

Because we’re making the experience worse for newer players for literally no reason. How does that help anyone? Remember we’re largely talking about farming legacy reps. As for XP, we just had a period where you could get 10-70 in 1-2 hours. So why are we nerfing the anniversary buff?

I have 110+ Exalted reps. I have ~300k TW badges. The TW badge nerf quite literally doesn’t affect me. I have spoken out against the nerf and will continue to do so because it was completely unnecessary and does nothing but hurt newer players or just players who, unlike me, didn’t hoard badges.

Your failure in imagination to comprehend that many are speaking out against changes that don’t affect them really says more about you than it does anything else.

Yes you’re truly a fighter of the people

So let’s review:

  • no Feat of Strength achievement simply for logging in like in previous ones
  • no free pet
  • no free TW badges
  • no fireworks cracker
  • no “max” XP/rep buff that scales with the year-count of the anniversary (13%, 14%, 15%, etc)
  • no “thank you for playing World of Warcraft” letter from the devs in the mailbox

Did I miss anything?

Blizzard truly appreciates your acts of heroism in their name.

No hype from what ive seen

It wouldn’t be that bad it was something like other events where you go to the event area and complete something fast and simple like ride the carousel, light a fire, or spin around a pole.

But it isn’t like that at all - you can either spend an hour or more doing the events for little to no XP out in Tanaris to get the extra 10% buff or run a bunch of TW dungeons (without the extra XP).

And the extra 10% isn’t even for the life of trhe event or account-wide - you’ll have to do this time-wasting nonsense quest every time for extra 10% on every character.

Because no one reads the information given to them.

It was even said earlier:

There’s a flat 10%, plus an additional 10% from the quest. 20%

Lmao, truly how could they!

TW badges are warbound now and the rewards were buffed with the patch yesterday.

Yea, it was a thoughtless move by someone who probably didn’t even understand the implications of what you’re saying. I have zero faith.

I love how other companies reward players for playing during anniversary events.

Whereas blizzard decides the entire 2 month event needs to be one massive grind and you might not even get everything even if you do grind every single day.

There’s an available quest that gives you another 10% that lasts for twelve hours and only drains when you’re playing. If I remember right this quest resets each day but you shouldn’t need to do it that often unless you play WoW for 12 hours a day.

Heirlooms no longer offer an XP buff, which is probably why it is no longer coded to stack. Now heirlooms are just a “reduce the use and recover the speed of rested XP” which forces you to log out in a town inn or city. I can only speak for myself, but I am unaffected by this. I am working on my 9th lvl 80, so low level XP is hardly a requisite in my book.

Not to mention when the Darkmoon Faire arrives in November, that brings it up to 30% for that week if you are consistent with returning there to reup the buff.

On this forum? Not many. They spend more time here giving “feedback” than actually playing the game. I am working on #9 myself.

Yes, I am well aware that heirlooms no longer give an xp buff, they haven’t for a few expansions now. The “you can still get it up to 20%” was in reference to the anniversary buff, which you said was halved in order to compensate for the warband xp buff. I was pointing out that the anniversary buff still goes to 20%, that it wasnt cut in half because of stacking reasons but in order to drive player engagement by offering the rest of the 20% as a reward for doing a certain amount of activities. I hope that clarifies for you.
