I think things are not going well for him, we see him make mistakes on lordaeron and on darkshore so the pressures of being an idealistic king are being shown, so yea a story like this on how a young man comes to terms with reality can be quite interesting .
Summary
he is a bit broken but of course we’ve never shown that since its on shadows rising, i hate details like this are placed on books…
Problem is… i think its too late to salvage his character, unless we see basically a splatter film starring anduin with detail on how his choices have screwed him over to generate pathos (its not enough to hear it second hand).
i just said that but i really have no idea how to make him likable my impression of him without looking deeper into his character is that he is the leader of my faction but a horde sympathizer that doesnt deserve to lead us, this is the culmination of that crapfest called bfa that really did dirty to every major character around, hell even some horde posters wanted to anduin to attack first.
Why do you think people cheered when anduin was attacking lordaeron with his badass helm? but oops nope he is not varian so he sucks, the ONLY plus for this is that… it was in character (again he is not varian) however the result is that reality once again turned into itself to keep our leader purer than distilled water since he was saved.
