I’m all for discs (and all healers for that matter) being good in PVP, but is it necessary for them to be a third dps?
Doesn’t seem like it’s going to be particularly healthy for the game if discs are doing that level of deeps.

What is up with people complaining about class design with nothing in mind other than looking at meters?
Look at “Fley’s” healing compared to the Rdruids.
Disc preist is ironically known for doing more damage than most healers due to their “attonement” spec design, whilst sacrificing healing power from healing specific spells.
His team won though? Like if he healed 2 mil less and lost because he ran out of healing you’d have a point.
The rdruid had to heal more because, you know, the disc priest was a third dps.
And? They’re both good teams, Flop’s team could’ve just as easily won.
You’re rather missing the point.
Flop had 2 million more healing done not because disc couldn’t heal as much, but because the disc priest did 2 million more damage done.
I certainly am not.
Also as i stated in the first post, end-game meters isn’t how you determine a win or loss, I can win an arena with <200k damage done overall, even if the other team does 5x that dmg. Flop’s team simply didn’t win, and the disc preist sacrifices healing to do that much damage.
He’s also dealing just as much damage as a Mage in those games. Doing as much damage as a dps as a healer is pretty stupid, I don’t care what spec the healer.
People have been requesting 3v3 DPS in RSS…

which isn’t really that stressful with how well it translates into atonement and the 17 external cds they currently have

Lets take void shift, all the superfluous un-impactful 100 damage ticks crystalline reflection, and non expiationed ptw padding out of the equation.
Disc burst is high but those moments are extremely telegraphed, and takes upwards of 5 gcds and uninterrupted hard casts to setup.
Tone the burst down, compensate with increased attonment, but please, enough with the details reports, they dont demonstrate anything.
If you can find me a MW or presvoker who is capable of healing an almost 5 minute game against one of the best RMP teams, while outputting equal healing to flop on rdruid and keeping up in dps with an arcane mage, I’d love to see it.
I’m pretty sure presvoker is oom 2 minutes earlier and is already onto next game.
The longer the game the more padded dps your goingg to see from things like CR, and that is damage that is not even stressing an enemy healers mana pool by any stretch of the imagination.
Disc burst needs to be toned down a little, but these end of match logs tell nothing without tne proper context.

Disc priest healing is actually trash though. You only live by using defensives before the dmg comes because it’s so hard to top people back up. Their dmg and CDs is all they have. They’re the easiest healer to kill and do the least hps by a lot. I’m down for dmg nerfs if they double the healing of every spell
Disc does good damage and healing only when it can actually free cast.

Disc took a 10% nerf on Beta to Atonement because they wanted to buff Disc’s damage. They have always been a high DPS healer that in some moments, can outdps most damage classes. That’s just the way they’ve always been, and since then Blizzard has learned (mainly from BFA) to keep healing numbers low with how much damage they deal. Disc will never do more sustained damage than a raw dps class, burst- maybe. Even then by itself they will never kill anyone.
its called bear form. you cant just sit in moonkin and do 50k dps all the time. you have to stop dpsing except for during ur cds if u get trained. sounds like a l2p issue
