the OP did. can you read?
Heres some insider tips,
Mind blast behaves like hateful strike that splashes you can have offtank max ranging taunts, or a maybe meta lock standing alone(I dont know how resist rates would affect them) and noone other than that tank will get targeted.
- Free action potions straight up negate the chains for 30 seconds, no dispel needed
OP, Iām assuming your casters are using mana potions? Shadow prot potions for everyone in the raid would also help mitigate some damage, and then there are 1-2 shadow resistance enchants (one for cape, and I think thereās another one, but Iām not certain) that would also help. Other than that, I wonder if your shadow priest would be doing more damage as Disc. They are in an awful spot right now, even amongst what people consider āmemeā specs.
Yeah all casters are using mana pots. As for the the other comments we have tanks using shadow protection pots, dps using health pots as needed. Healers I think are going into phase 2 with good mana. We are just slow on the phase 2 burn due to high resist and only 2 physical dps classes. But this has been helpful will try some tweaks to specs for that fight alone. Everyone is getting off spec runes at least for next time.
Literally fap p2 and make the sure the offtank is holding 2nd hate for mind blast
we did this 2nd night and 1 shotted our dry run with no buffs/consumes, except for shadow pots on tanks
phase 1
lock tank starts with aggro, standing out of hitbox to not get slept
war tank stands in hitbox with mage
melee stacked at back right at max melee range
dream1: war tank, mage (cs the first mind blast before going down, silences for 10 sec)
dream2: lock tank, enh
when the portal spawns, dps takes it right away but tank stay as long as possible. that way you get max dps uptime in phase 1 and go into phase 2 with max possible mana. war tank taunts after coming back up, lock tank goes to hitbox to get slept (note: the next portal timer only starts once both players are back up)
phase 2
active tank move closest to boss to soak mind blasts, until shadow pot wears off
offtank at back left leg max range, taunt when active tank shadow pot wears off
melee stack at back right leg max melee range
Hopefully Blizzard nerfs/fixes the 100 magic res and 200 arcane res on this boss which excludes casters from performing well and hurts the chances of groups killing this boss.
Itās already happening where leaders are not bringing many casters to the entire bfd run because of this one boss and thatās a serious problem.
I donāt fill with any casters. They are so bad in that fight.
And Kelris is all that matters. If you kill him, you can clear easily.
yeah 100%, it was incredibly tilting to fail with mage heal/rdruid and spriest, then come back in with heal priest and a warrior instead and absolutely crush this boss. having dispels and shields and all physical dps makes the fight significantly easier, would have hoping in SoD you can just play what you want and not have a way harder time
Iām not sure how ele is fairing but balance doesnāt seem to do much and shadow canāt even be called a dps spec. And thatās before considering the magic resists. Iām not sure if any amount of consumables is going to help you with this guy with this comp tbh. My guild got hard walled with 2 caster dps, then downed it with none and some shadow protection pots pretty easily. Weāre lucky we had some flexibility with our raid comp still but if these are your friends Iām not sure what to recommend other than the casters respeccing to roles that are more helpful. Mage is fine, druid should be feral cus cat is bonkers, priests should only be healing atm, and maybe the shaman can tank like others recommended? Or enhance? Iām not sure.
His sleep mechanic is also atrocious. Its core concept is fine, but as itās currently implemented: The portals need to have a pity timer where youāre guaranteed one after killing a certain number of night elves or something. Last time I fought him, we wiped three times in a row because each time I went under, a portal never spawned. Killed like, 7-8 night elf spirits and got nothing each time.
Not much you can do when youāre at the mercy of that sort of RNG. Kinda sucks.
We had that happen last night. Priestess 8 or 9 spawned one, I died the other player didnāt.
The fight thought I was still in the dream and it was active.
Never threw anyone else into the dream. Lovely bug.
Yeah we originally were doing feral and a tank. Then hunter and other tank. But felt terrible when one of our 2 reliable interrupts was stuck in there for 6-9 priestesses. Itās funny cause the reverse is kinda annoying too, when people get it first kill and get out instantly. It makes your group see 4 sleep cycles instead of 3. RNG on a critical boss encounter is just not a good design. On top of all the other issues previously mentioned.
