So Thrall really is a coward

I did say based on anyone with a brain in their head that knew what a Mary Sue was.

There are people that claim any characters a Mary Sue, but we literally walked through Thralls mind, and saw he legitmently was not a Mary Sue, we watched him grow into power to be able to actually weild that (Not counting the growth from WC3 onwards)

Anyone trying to claim -Thrall- of all people was a Mary Sue, was simply a hater.

Except… he’s coming back. He’s coming back to save the Horde and all our ***es. He’s more of an Orc than any that have lived prior.

No Thrall’s not a Mary Sue, he’s a kill-stealing coward who runs away almost every time there’s a threat then show’s up again just to get his face on the news.

He’s not coming back on a permanent basis. He’s going to show up just long enough to pick a new warchief (worked out so well the 2 times he did it before so sure let’s bring him back for round 3). It’s either going to be Baine, Saurfang or Lor’themar. Sylvanas will be the new Lich Queen and we’ll have an expansion of WotLK 2.0.

Whaa, you didnt’ get the killing blow on Garrosh.

I’m actually glad Thrall killed Garrosh, it was a closing symbol of him fully committing to his responsiblity when it came to Garrosh, and closed the circle.

Had he not, people would just complain we had to clean up thrall’s mess.

Further, Thrall just wants to retire with his family, that’s not a cowardly thing to do, Thrall’s been dealing with all this garbage for longer than any of us.

People tire out and want to move on. That’s not cowardly, that’s literally just life.

I’m not talking about the duel where he cheated his way to victory, I’m talking about him confronting Garrosh at the end of MOP, getting owned, literally hearthing out and leaving us to fight him then showing up seconds after WE beat him and being like ā€œI’mma take you out now you mean 'ole orc, I mean now that you’re sprawled out on the ground with 20+ heroes around me and the Horde and Alliance leaders to back me up.ā€

Okay, you go fight a Sha’d up Orcish warlord, without your magic because it’s been sealed away, see how you manage Elf. I bet you you’d be paste on the ground.

Also, thrall didn’t cheat, get over it.

He did, he violated the rules. You can argue that the results top that, but he still violated the spirit of the duel.

No, he didn’t.

You can say he did all you want, but he didn’t.

Give the guy a break. The guy deserved a bit of down time after all the things he’s done for Azeroth.

I keep seeing this over and over, and I’ll repeat myself over and over. Its cowardly because he seemingly did so during the Legion Invasion and Sylvanas, the one person who makes Garrosh look like a saint, became warchief in the wake of Vol’jin’s demise. If it were any other period, then we wouldn’t have this argument. But here we are.

So have a LOT of other characters. Every leader you could think of. Should they just call it in? Should Greymane step down because he’s getting tired? Malf and Tyrande? Muradin? Saurfang? Jaina? These guys and more have every right to retire, but they chose not to. Why should Thrall be any exception?

Yes, he did.

You can say he didn’t all you want, but he did.

Thing is, If Thrall had died at the end of Cata… would it be his fault the Horde ended up the way it was? Same difference. Thrall lost confidence in himself, and doubted his own power… THAT is what caused the elements to leave him. Self-perpetuating cycle there. The Elements won’t respond to his call because HE doesn’t feel he has the right to call on them.

He’s spent more of his life a Shaman than warrior… what on earth is one warrior? He is strong yes, but nothing special… he is out of practice in the ways of being a warrior, he has no special skills trained as he relied on his Shamanic abilities.

Not to mention, throughout legion he was doubting himself, his purpose… so yes it makes sense he needed to take time out… to look after his family… and in the words of pandarians ā€˜to see what is worth fighting for’

Where does it say this? All that happens in Mak’gora is the two combatants agree to the rules. Just because Cairne did it in the old way, doesn’t mean that necessarily stands. It’s what the two combatants agree to. No holds barred is also a rule that can be used.

And btw… in the pre event of wrath… Garrosh and Thrall had a Mak’gora in the orgrimmar arena in front of the entire population of ogrimmar… they used magic and skills, no eyelids batted.

dude, he was ā€˜raised’ by humans. you expect him to be all ā€˜mad-boi garrosh’ when things go bad?

Thrall wasn’t around when Slyvanas was named warchief, he was in Deepholm fighting to try to get Doomhammer back, and failed, thus the shaman class leader got it. He from then recognized he was having issues summoning and controlling the elements over the subconscious issues he had over failing with Garrosh, and having to kill his best friend’s son

Thrall completed his task, saved azeroth on multiple occasions, and cleaned up his mess with Garrosh, and learned he’s basically lost his powers.

When shamans lose their powers, it’s basically time to retire. Which he chose to do so.

Whether or not he actually managed to rekindle his ability to control the elements in his time away, is currently unknown.

Thrall has -always- been the relucant hero archtype, he’s been called to action, over and over and over again, to save azeroth repeatedly, he’s done ridiculous things in his life time.

He’s not some knight in shining armor heroic savior who dashes off at the first chance of trouble. That’s been part of his character for a long time.

That does not make him a coward. he’s done what he needs to do everytime it’s come up, however he’s not omnicient, he cannot know everything, and he cannot be everywhere, further without his powers, what was he going to do?

No, he really didn’t.

I’m not going to go back and forth with you like a couple of toddlers arguing on the playground. You have your opinion and it’s not going to change. The rest of us have ours and that will remain the same. Just keep in mind you saying something is so doesn’t make it true.

Sadly yes, but this time he wouldn’t be in a position to do much about it. He probably wouldn’t be so hated if that happened.

Grom. Durotan. Orgrim. Broxigar. Garrosh. ALL of them are warriors, yet they left their mark in history. No excuse for Thrall because he lost his powers. He can still do things, despite his handicap.

Same can be said of Vereesa Windrunner. She should spend time with her kids, yet helped out the Unseen Path and during the Nightborne Rebellion Or Tyrande stepping down to look out for Malfurion, but still helped in said Rebellion.

What exception does Thrall have that the others don’t?

And following Cata, he became world shaman! Clearly the elements didn’t care back then, so why should they care now? Why would the elements bother with what goes on in a duel between mortals in the first place?

So he didn’t participate in Vol’jin’s funeral. Some friend and brother he turned out to be…

Says who?

And if Superman loses his powers, should he just call it quits? Does Tony give up when he lose his company and all his suits? Should Batman hang up his cowl and vanish when he’s tired of saving Gotham over and over again?

He of all people should’ve known what Syl is and what she’s capable of. She’s the last person anyone would want as warchief. He should’ve stayed to keep her in check, to shoot down her desires for war, and ignore her manipulations. He should’ve learnt his lessons after Garrosh, but clearly, he didn’t.

Pot, meet kettle.

What on earth are you talking about? That wasn’t even a response to you. I’m on your side with this thread.

Thing is, they were warriors from the absolute start… they honed their strength as warriors. Thrall didn’t he honed his strength through his elemental connections. He may be strong, but as a plain warrior he doesn’t hold a candle to your examples.

They don’t. As we’ve pointed out… he only lost his power as a shaman because he doubted HIMSELF. The elements won’t come to a shaman who doubts he has the rights to do so. Basically Thrall has locked himself in this cycle due to his OWN personal guilt trip. Elements couldn’t care less, they wanted Garrosh dead after his dark shaman tortured the elementals around Ogrimmar.
