So they picked this way to redeem Sylvanas

The soul split only applies to those killed by mourneblades. Normal undead just have their souls poorly stitched to their bodies.

Id be okay with there being a new race of LightForsaken as long as theres also a race for Maldraxxian.
I am NOT giving up my bones and skulls. Or slime.

Well many died to frostmourne… the lich king killed many people? So you can say undead killed by the lich king have that.

We knew since forever ago that undeath changes you. So I don’t see why people are surprised by this? Especially since what we saw in the maw. Souls getting split, fragmented, tortured, experimented on. This may explain why some night elves chose undeath, over suffering in the maw. More were supposed to make this choice until night elf players complained about it.

True. But, Garrosh was also fully himself when he made his major decisions (nuking Theramore, the war in Ashenvale, unleashing Old God stuff in Pandaria while killing the pandaren trying to stop the defilement). While Sylvanas was subjected to a corrupting force through a magical means before her major decisions.

You could sum up the situation with this rule: That which is corrupted through a magical plot device can be redeemed through a magical plot device. That which was not corrupted through a magical plot device, but rather corrupted naturally, can only be redeemed through personal atonement.

Though that kind of goes back to another thing I mentioned, which is that we all probably default to using the word ‘redemption’ to cover too much. When corrupting magic is used as a plot device, the better word is probably restoration.

What’s the difference between dumb-mindless undead that we see guarding the Lich King and the ones that seemingly retain memories of their former lives?

How does each take place?

“The Lich King didn’t just raise them, he controlled them. They had no will of their own. His Voice was in their heads 24/7, whispering to them. Sylvanas didn’t do that, so the Forsaken have their own will.”

“I have to say this. In a way, Sylvanas reminds me of Tommy, and she is about to get her Sight/Hearing/Voice back.”

Creatures die, supposedly go to the Shadowlands after dying…

This stuff with the Undead, some retaining souls, some not? Add in the effect of Frostmourne now and everything is wonky.

I really hope she won’t be “saved”.
