So the term "blacklist" is bad now?

People look for reasons to be triggered… screw em.

Are you referring to the politician who used the adjective meaning ‘stingy’ or ‘miserly’ but starts with an N ? You know, the one that is phonetical similar to a certain racial slur but does not share etymology with it ?

The one political correctness as made so you cannot even use on the forums for cripe’s sake, it’s a perfectly usable English word that has no offensive connotation.

What provoked you into responding to me then? It was simple curiosity that triggered you into proclaiming yourself part of the “good side” that opposes political correctness?

Simple intellectual stimulation that made you declare your side to be the side of righteousness?

Yeah, right.

You were offended by my assertion that you are only doing it to push your own, damaging, and negative, agenda.

You didn’t need to do that, nothing with white is racist didn’t you know? Everything with black is though…

You wanting people not to use words. I don’t want people to be limited to Syzzyt’s approved word list because I think Syzzyt should not be an authority on anything.

The side that doesn’t get people fired from their jobs for Tweets is in fact, the righteous side.

Period.

Can you point me to where I suggested this? Where is my approved word list? Are you just creating another strawman because you fail so utterly to disprove people’s views?

Yep.

I am not the droid you are looking for. I view these “civil rights” movements as their own forces of oppression and hatred. But wanting to be an open bigot like yourself just isn’t where I want to end up.

I work in a pretty woke but pretty large tech company, we still use the term whitelist, for ip addresses and server redirects.

I guess I should prepare for a rebrand or something.

We do. My coworkers aren’t paid more than me on gender. We have had a law about this since the 60s or 70s. The reason for why there is a large disparity comes down mostly to the blatant fact women at large take more days off than men do for varying reasons.

This is one of those societal myths that I hate hearing about because the number is reached by taking the median pay of all employed men, and the median pay of all employed women and comparing. No economist takes this myth seriously and they have said the only way you reach this conclusion is by discounting every factor going into your pay, like men working more lucrative but riskier jobs, women taking more time off on average than men, etc.

See, that’s why no one takes you seriously and that is why I say you’re part of THAT crowd.

Wanting to be able to use words like Master/Slave to refer to a database replication scheme does not make one a Bigot.

You know what is a bigot though ? People like you, who cannot tolerate difference of opinion. Because that’s what Bigotry actually means : intolerance of different opinions.

I don’t think that’s actually it. It’s that men by and large take higher paying and higher risk jobs than women do.

edit nevermind. You also said this.

Edit: Didn’t catch your edit. Disregard.

It’s also based on hours worked. Men on average work more hours than women.

It’s also not true anymore : Women 20-30 make more on average than men. The “pay gap” is reversed because schools are becoming more and more hostile to men, and men drop out at a higher rate, and also don’t go to college at the same rate women do.

Agreed. This is what I mean when I say that we are fabricating cultural problems just to keep the victims in business.

We are running out of real issues and are now going to extremes just to create more of them. Why? I have no clue. It must be a lucrative business for someone to keep this perpetual war among the plebs going.

Because people like you insisting that the push back against this only comes from “Bigots”.

There’s also a lot more men in the workforce who aren’t interested in getting married, having kids, going out with their friends, etc than there are women. Especially in the younger age range. So whenever they’re scheduled they show up for work and seldom take time off. With these types the only time you’re really going to see them call in or take vacation is if a highly anticipated game is releasing. Like a coworker of mine plays a lot of WoW, the day after they announced Classic launch they put in for it six months in advance, they were gone that entire week of launch. Given it was also a very peculiar time nobody else was taking off so he wasn’t challenged on it. This is a guy who has no family to visit on Christmas that lives close since they all live in another state, they’re a night owl so they don’t really have an active social life, and from conversations they come off as one of the types who argues “Marriage is a trap, you have literally nothing to gain but everything to lose if it ends in divorce.”

I didn’t suggest that at any point. Ever.

You are, as always, creating your own enemy to argue against because the one in front of you isn’t as easy to beat.

'k

The people I mentioned in the above paragraphs would obviously be the extremists that I referred to further along in the post. People like you.

Keep up.

That’s bait. Keep insulting me though. Proving my point with each post.

Ok, except governments are getting involved and it is being pushed through the corporate world under the guise of “human rights”. It is setting a false narrative which causes division among people and the fact we are so heavily influenced by social media means a few people (Dorcey, Zuckerburg and Bezos) can shape entire elections by swaying the discourse in their favor.

Are many people actually as offended as twitter would make you think? Not at all. Does that tiny vocal minority have power over peoples livelihoods? Evidently, they have much power. People have been doxxed, fired from their jobs and corporations have made company wide decisions based on irrational ramblings of mad men/women. To act as if there is not a huge problem is at best ignorance of history.
