So the servers have just gone offline for patch 9.2.5

But then how will I clean up the excess gravy?

Serve rolls instead.

Don’t need luck, its pretty easy not to get banned.

I’m turning trade and general back on for the first time in years. Looking forward to trying out the new report functions.

“I think…” /report - thinking is offensive to most players
“I believe…” /report - disagrees with some players
“WTS / WTB…” /report - we don’t like boosters
“LFG…” /report - spamming, keep groups to guilds pls
“Chuck Norris…” /report - go back to classic barrens boomer
“[orifice] [item]…” … that’s okay, it is tradition

all my chat is turned off trade, general, zone, say, whisper all except guild chat is turned off.

my account safety isnt worth getting a ban over ban happy people.

Because adults in the real world are always polite and watch their language?

Or are we talking about the ‘adults’ in your fantasy land bubble?

Just don’t communicate in any way. Not worth your time anyway. Win-win.

Agree. FF14 community is a study case in passive aggressive behaviour. Just what our community is becoming.

No change for me, I don’t think I’ve said a word in chat in forever.
If I do it’s just a short, quick answer to something asked directly of me.

There are good, nice people who play this game but there are too many rotten apples in this barrel to put yourself out there to find them.

Probably. I am actually looking forward to the new and creative ways people come up w/ cursing and insulting one another.

That is always good for a laugh.

No, you’re right, sometimes they aren’t.

And when they’re impolite and don’t watch their language in private businesses, they’re frequently asked to leave.

That wasn’t what you were implying. If you want to go the “Its in the ToS” route, go that route, but don’t pretend like you live in some kind of idealistic utopia where civility between strangers is commonplace.

Guess many of us live in this idealistic utopia, where being a decent person when talking with others not on the internet is a normal thing.

And so will always find it quite amusing how hard some people seem to find acting with common decency when talking with other people (regardless of place) to be.

If your definition of having a good time is being a public donkey then probably yes.

Also, that might mean you have other issues to deal with.

At this moment it would take more than luck to get banned in trade chat, considering servers are down.

I don’t know where you live but civility between strangers is absolutely commonplace.

Understand that “civility” here refers to not flinging obscenities and/or starting fights with strangers. I manage to go out in public regularly without ever doing that. If you don’t, then I question your life choices.

You’ve obviously never wandered around Jim Town in Evansville, Indiana.
