So that new Elune cinematic...uh OK?

Yes. I guess that’s true. Hmmmm… well regardless, thanks to her actions I have to spend even more time in the Maw every week so I can save the night elves that got put in there so she’s poo poo on my list.

Please just outsource the story writting back to Chris Metzen lol.

Metzen wasn’t great, but he understood this universe. And he certainly understood that robbing your universe of all mystery is a bad thing. Don’t get me wrong - writers in fantasy worlds should definitely plot out their cosmology, but that needs to stay internal. It exists in the background to maintain continuity, but it never becomes front and center.

This shows us Elune didn’t know. And that goddess logic is not the same as us. Elune did help her sister out though which is nice. Nice lore revelations. As a war goddess we see how Elune thinks now.

Metzen just read a bunch of Warhammer Fantasy codex and took what he needed, and that’s probably what the game needs again, lol.

Sylvanas. It’s for Sylvanas.

I’m grateful that they did not depict Elune, but rather showed her through Tyrande. Thank you for that.

Though it is a low standard, this could have been so much worse. Essentially, nearly supreme beings in a clash to define reality and mere mortals or entire races of mortals are but resources in determining who is the victor.

I’m assuming these beings more or less cancel each other out in terms of power, then it comes down to the followers to make the difference. In this sense I liked that unlike the Jailer’s souless husks, Elune stands with her willing creations to the end.

It was literally this - WarCraft: Orcs and Humans was developed as a Warhammer game that they had to slap a generic branding on when the licensing fell through.

But he chose well - big, bad Orcs fighting zealot, bigot humans with demons in the background making it all happen. Even when he evolved the story, he kept it grounded and simple.

The current developers are trying to making the narrative cosmic and clever - this universe does not lend itself well to either of those endeavours.

Elune is playing 6d chess.

So let me get this straight. Elune gives her power to Tyrande to allow her to seek vengeance, knowing it would destroy Tyrande. Then Elune pulls out when Sylvanas is getting choked so Tyrande doesn’t choose vengeance. Now Elune wants Tyrande to choose vengeance or renewal???

You know it’s bad when Talies can’t defend it.

Gee, it’s like fans have been claiming for years that Blizzard hates Night Elves.

Gee, thanks Blizzard, for proving us right all on your own!

More like 1D chutes and ladders

Yep, it’s how I write.

I put down as much world building as I can, knowing the reader only gets about 20% of it.

And somethings should always be a mystery and not explained by things like “midochlorians”

I love how Slyvannas was right. God’s ain’t really worth following. Following their plans, but I am interested how the night elf souls will be used in Ardenweald. Seems like Ardenwield is now way alliance favored plot wise. Allied race wise would make sense for the ardenwield to join Alliance now moreso. If we do get allied races.

Elune isn’t in on any of how the Shadowlands works so I am wondering where she is. She also seems to have a similar type of Personality as the Winterqueen, which is interesting.

Hell, you can even have midichlorians! But again, keep that internal to keep the mystery present in-universe. If that concept helps you to maintain the rules of your universe and keep them internally consistent, awesome! But the person experiencing your universe doesn’t need to have that explained. The mystery is what is important, not the explanation.

Pretty much this. I’m a staunch atheist myself, but this is some of the slimiest “goDs evUL” writing I’ve ever seen.

Holy crap this is terrible. Like… unfathomably bad writing.

A terrorist attack sure… but genocide? No, I think not.

Lets be honest, the best part was starting off the quest chain with a quest re-color in the tower of knowledge.

Why did I let you, my loyal followers, burn to death?

The Night Queen needed batteries or something, idk.

This writing is so bad I made a thread about it!

Oh well, seems folks aren’t willing to reply just yet…

Wow, they really do use a story crayon, don’t they?
