I went with Earthen. I have one a lvl 14 already, and even though i love Dungeon Delver, the DID totems and Mole Machine are antithetical (imo) to shaman.
Every Shaman spec, hero class, and build within that class feels super fun right now. It’s a golden age.
I only ever play resto… but this intrigues me.
I think you could definitely make an argument that Dark Irons might veer off more in the direction of “Dark Shamans,” which have already shown up in the lore. In keeping their their inspiration, Duergar, Dark Irons tend towards using power enforced by law.
So while a hippie shaman might be all about giving gifts to the elements and getting favors in return, a Dark Iron might make binding contracts with detailed duties from both parties, and enforcing that contract strictly. We know that when they summoned the daddy of all fire elementals, Ragnaros, they willingly enslaved themselves to him in order to make use of his power, and were only freed when an outside third party managed to banish him, since they were not able to do that themselves.
The thing that would differentiate any Shaman, even a Dark Iron Shaman, from a Mage, is that Mages operate using fundamental forces of the universe, whereas ALL Shamans are making use of intelligent Elemental beings. Whether they negotiate politely or use force to make use of that power, all Shamans have to interact with magical creatures that have some degree of sentience and free will.
Uncapped Chain Lightning When?
Agreed, it gives no notification. Its really the only downside I have noticed.
DPS shaman have been visually pleasing for a while imho. Even when things werent great I could tell myself “at least I look pretty doing it”
R Sham depends on how much you like chain heal.
Agreed. I remember when lightning bolt was a lightning ball that wasnt connected. Also Lightning shield was just three charges.
Certainly have come along way.
But they have done well with ele shamans now.
