i can assure you, people won’t leave in droves just because they miss out on that extra 3 minutes of tradechat trolling time.
No doubt, 3 mins may not be much or is it 3 x 20. They will however leave when things become irritating for no justifiable reason. Personally I’m leaving because I’m tired of paying the lawyer’s flying fine (time gating and PF) for 3 expansions.

At this point it has less to do with the portals themselves, and everything to do with the fact that people are tired of Blizzard making stupid changes like this and not listening to us when we say “hey this sucks and will only make the game less fun for us.”

but… this reaction is standard… with any sort of change.
yet here we are, all these years later, and the sky still hasn’t fallen yet.
we all managed to live through the last portal removal.
Arguably no, considering subs have been falling steadily since Wrath. Right now in particular subs are at an all time low, so making changes like this that will drive even more people off isn’t a wise choice.
And I dunno about you but I can’t remember the last time I saw a nearly 3000 comment post, with 4 blue responses, about one change in the game.

it was probably the “personal loot for old raids” thread.
That’s kind of like saying drownings are at their highest in 40 years, when only looking at the number of people who are drowning, while choosing to ignore the fact that the population has doubled during that time.
Wrath brought back a mass of players who had left, along with bringing in a bunch of new players.
People came along with the intent of ONLY playing that specific content.
Trying to claim that they left due to design choices, when they had no intention of staying, doesn’t seem to be very logical.
Another stupid change that should have been reverted, honestly.
My point is, subs are bleeding because Blizzard isn’t listening to their players anymore. The game isn’t fun for many people, if not most of them. It blows my mind that some of ya’ll will sit there like that “This is fine” meme and pretend the state this game is in is fine, when it clearly isn’t. It’s never been worse. Telling your boss, “hey uh, our players are overwhelmingly mad about this change” shouldn’t be met with “oh well. They’ll get over it.” but that’s exactly what they’ve been doing for years.

the difference here, is that people waited until after the change went live, and gave feedback in terms of actual data.
…whereas this is a case of people saying “i hate it, i know i’m gonna hate it”… before anything has happened.

Blizzard put the portals in there. What part of that did you happen to miss?
We drive the speed Blizzard set the signs to and now for absolutely no good reason theyre lowering the freeway speed from 65 to 35.

Theres an article right now saying that the layoffs are going to come back and bite them in the rear and wont likely even save them the money they thought it would.
That and that they may end up having to ‘restructure’ yet again.
This company currently is caught in the whirlpool and is going down and we actually have people in here defending the very decisions currently being made that will finish off this game, at least, and probably force the company itself into bankruptcy if they dont get their heads on straight.
It’s a great comparison, you just don’t like it. Blizzard had given us plenty of ways to get around in WoW. At the worst blizzard has lowered the speed limit from 65 to 62. You just want to cry and moan.
They did. And now they’re taking them away “just because.” Actually that’s not true, they have a reason, and it’s to make travel time arbitrarily longer, just like everything else now.

Not really. We’re complaining because Blizzard is insistent on making this game less fun and they’re not listening to us. They seem to think they know what’s best for the game but ever since they started this charade, subs have been dipping lower and lower. So if they know what’s best, why aren’t they bringing in more players?
