Omg I didn’t even think about the time gating. I might unsub now and then come back a few months after 9.1 drops (so like mid-2023?) and I can do the renown all at once and then start playing the new xpac and hope it doesn’t suck as bad as shadowlands.
For the record, my antipathy toward this xpac wasn’t something that started after getting bored with SL because 9.1 is taking so long. I hated it from the very beginning. It dropped on a Monday (I think? Or was it Tuesday?), and by Friday I took a break for almost two months before covid boredom dragged me back kicking and screaming. Really hoping the release 9.1, someday, and then go straight to announcing the next xpac, hopefully back in Azeroth and not some ridiculously contrived land of the dead.
