Sounds to me like it is in Blizzards best interest to partially refund here, and maybe minus fees they had to pay. ie refund 11 months worth minus fees. Anything else is just bad pr and wastes their time with customer relations, but a lot of companies just don’t allow it because of bad actors.
Really if they minused a one month cost, ie $15 plus fees from the whole thing and refunded they would be doing the fair thing. Hope they do it for you.
However, legally, they don’t have to do anything. The charge back idea also would be legally unwise I think. You would have to lie on the reason for it to go through, or at least claim something you have no proof of. ie that you canceled and they charged you anyway.
Make a fuss, but don’t cheat or break the law here. Unless you have proof you cancelled don’t go there.
If you were having financial issues since the beginning of the year buying the Dreadlord’s Regalia you currently have transmogged when it went up for sale in March was probably not the wisest move.
Still… considering people buy into the annual sub due to a promotion with the additional mount as well as the promo mounts for 6 month subs I wonder if the adamancy to not refund is because one might have claimed and used those mounts. Is Blizzard even able to remove access to mount once it is granted to an account?

Yeah
I back this.
You made an attempt, blizz said “lolno”, give the bank that statement and they’ll do a charge back
This made me laugh. I was doing this stupid balancing thing with my 2 bank accounts and my Prime service charge came through. Never noticed, or gave the charge any thoughts. But i saw that charge and thought my neice broke her promise and went on another apending spree on my amazon account. She calls me now just to tell my new pin number. Some real ‘Thanos on my birthday’ level crap.
I bet this happens ALL the time which is why I use cards that I cancel. Then when the card is charged, nothing happens. And then Blizz comes to me. Don’t grovel to them. #LifeHack
It’s sort of like a hostile take over from a bigger company. They offer more then the value of the company. This may suck for the CEO, maybe, but it’s great for shareholders as their shares will get inflated by the huge buyout. CEO/the board are forced to sell or face the shareholders wrath. Even if Blizzard is doing fine of their own, they still are forced to sell to Microsoft.
Just one example of why a company would sell that has nothing to do with…
Could also be a mutual agreement to merge, not sure. I just know there are many reasons to sell that have nothing to do with being a struggling business.
Don’t forget to cancel. It was over a week and you most likely had been riding around on the included mounts. Also the year sub is better for retention metrics so harder to refund I’m sure. Coming here complaining about your health and time commitment isn’t getting you anywhere except Karen vibes. If you have been on the year sub and buy every other game you aren’t going anywhere. Plus, I mean you def aren’t leaving this year. LMAO
Better call the BBB to Karen. LMAO
this why i buy blizzard balance cards i can put 40 dollars once every month and use that money for membership or what ever i want with no string attach
I work on a lot of financial projects for work and had to take over chargeback process stuff. The credit cards are surprisingly archaic tech wise. If you want to fight a chargeback you’re basically creating a power presentation with screen shots.
Likely why Blizzard doesn’t bother.
You give poor customer service at your muffin shop.

I wish people would stop claiming poor customer service because they are not happy with the answer they were given.

It is poor customer service.
I used a software package that used to be called “Serif” for DECADES for my drawing and desktop publish, websites, etc…
The company puts out a new version years back that said it had a new website menu building tool.
Well the day of release the tool didnt work and they say theyre working on it, give it a week.
A month goes by and still not working so I said screw it, I want my money back.
yeah…they refused to refund me even though they knew I bought the software specifically for the menu building tool…literally the ONLY reason I even wanted it given I build my sites by hand.
Took me two weeks and a thread just like this reminding them Ive been a customer since 1994 or so and they really need to start making sure they arent alienating paying customers.
if your story is accurate, the should at least refund 11 months of your money if you havent played just to show some good faith towards a customer…
Just because you don’t like the answer does not make it poor customer service. Was the customer service agent rude? Where they not knowledgeable? Did they not answer your question?
Them telling you are not eligible for a full or partial refund does not make poor customer service, it is standard customer service. What you are requesting is that they try to go beyond policy for you and request from someone higher up for you a refund. I consider that excellent customer service and that is hard to come by.
The other issue is the circumstances and customer service does not know if that is true or not. I work in HR and the amount of people that will lie about being ill and family members dying is shocking. Which is why you have to provide proof and we double check in the case of the deceased by looking at the funeral home website.

Pre canned message and voiding customer is the essence of rude, so yes.
