The best scaling spec we have has legit ALWAYS been fire.

Thatā€™s not the spec. Itā€™s broken abilities given to a class. I can do that for any class. Nothing to do with stats.

Because itā€™s wrong. Itā€™s a garbage argument that just leads to people thinking fire should be bottom at the start because ā€œit gets better with statsā€.

Fire is no where near the bottom, frost is.

Frost and arcane both need buffs.

Now im not tryign to say frost WONT scale, but lets not deny facts here, fire traditionally has ALWAYS been our best scaling spec, thats not an opinion.

I just want it to be perfectly clear that there is little to no support for fire scaling better than the other specs. The bracers/corruptions etc in BFA were a fluke/mistake that wasnā€™t corrected.

Youā€™re being silly. You cant compare scaling from one tier to the next. There will have been balance changes and new abilities between tiers. No class goes a whole expansion without changes. If you want a good argument on scaling take logs from the first week of the raid and the last.

Bit difficult to pull out numbers from the last tier but fire did scale pretty well with mastery in BFA. Compared to the frozen orb build then which was rarely played and had varying stat weights, fire mages only stacked mastery to do sick ignite dmg. Granted the mechanics have changed, we no longer play GS, fireā€™s ignite dmg is reduced etcā€¦ but you cant say fire has not scaled well previously

Besides Critical Strike have extra double dips because during Combustion it converts your Critical Strike Rating (which is useless during Combustion) into Mastery Rating making those huge ignites that you can spread.

Yes, and Frost double dips on crit from both the bonus from shatter and Icy Propulsion. Shout out to Haste increasing IV duration through TV. The problem with this kind of scaling is that it locks our last tier of talents into Thermal Void and makes us really dependent on Icy Propulsion as well as the level of its conduit. The theoretical Frost scaling is based on Icy Veins uptime with IP which didnā€™t exist in the past.
