They are both publishing stories to entertain an audience.
All I’m saying is, authors/publishers normally don’t try to make a character popular. They write characters and put them out there. If they are popular, great, give that character more airtime. If they aren’t, get rid of them.
Blizzard is unique in that they very often try to force the popularity of a character. LOL And it’s very obvious when they try to do so. Audiences I don’t think appreciate it much as they feel like they are being manipulate - which they are.
Through different mediums, with different constraints and limitations, with different methods, reaching vastly different audiences.
By this logic driving a motorbike is equivalent to driving a tank because both are vehicles.
Except in this case, the narrative is Blizzard’s. Outside of insane lashback, they’re not interested in needing to constantly pivot the story to adjust to characters coming and going like it’s a popularity contest.
Blizzard isn’t manipulating you by consistently using characters that exist within their world and plot because you dislike those characters.
Blizzard also isn’t unique in keeping plot-relevant characters.
Well if you think that is disturbing, just remember, our species, H.Sapiens evolved in Africa. Those are the only original people. So unless you are one of them, you would be the fetishisation of race, what ever that means.
To me this just says you don’t read many books.
I have never read a single books where I saw this happen.
I have read countless stories where the author wrote and just did what he want with the characters.
Your only example seems to be some vague manga magazines
Putting race on a pedestal. Give it an unusual amount of importance.
Yeah just like how Alleria became queen of Quelthelas in TWW.
Wait, no she didn’t.
He’s the son of Alleria and Turalyon. He’s a half elf.
Is calling him a half elf an undue assigning of importance, or is it calling things what they are?
always about race with you, isn’t it.
It also happened before with Baine
At this point I’m just waiting for the acronym to rear its head.
I never said that. But Blizzard does seem to try to elevate such characters more … again look at Med’an. This feels like round 2. Or even round 3 if you include Faerin and all the Arathi.
I don’t remember hearing about this.
Where is Med’an in WoW?
Your thread centers on Arator.
What the hell else would it be about?
I read the comics Med’an featured in. No, it’s not even close to the same thing. Med’an is also not canon.
The Arathi of Hallowfall are what they are. They’re an offshoot of the original Arathi.
Do you have a point, or is this a weird way of dancing around the acronym I’m imagining you want to actually use?
Oh, you mean like Taelia and Faerin, both of whom people were so sure would be “forced” upon us as Queen of Stormwind because they had any positive interaction with Anduin? And then nothing happened?
Every race in WoW is a race that evolved from something else. Humans evolved from the Vrykul race, elves evolved from the Trolls, etc. This is true on Earth as well.
About the only thing that is not an evolution or blend of something else would be simple prokaryotic cells and even they seem to have evolved from complex proteins.
Misinformation, strange choice of hangups, and doomposting?
This is a shi*post if I ever saw one.
I don’t know why are you are assuming Lorethemar’s gonna die, but I am not going to take you seriously, because you were all like “Biracial” like it was some gotcha moment?
I don’t even get what you were trying to say there, but I don’t think he will die.
Not all the races. Especially the beast races like Tauren, Pandaren, and Vulpera.
The Tauren evolved from the Yaungol. The Druids claim the Pandaren and raccoons had a common ancestor. It is unlikely that the First Ones created the Vulpera so they evolved from something.
So all the races of Azeroth are blended or evolved from something else. Why are these new blends any different?
