Wrong again. The steady-state damage has been increased, per Blizzard’s bluepost.
By removing only (1) skill or variable from the Spec during the test, you can view what changes. it truly is as simple as that.
Changing more than (1) variable produces too many different results and thus you cannot accurate identify if there is an issue.
Subjective.
We’re not talking about Outlaw Rogues are we? Besides, this is a false equivalence because Adrenaline Rush no longer has a 99% uptime.
Show me evidence:
What have the devs said recently about Beast Mastery’s class design?
What metrics are they watching?
What content are they watching? LFR? Heroic/Mythic Raiding? Keystones?
This is important information to strengthen your argument. I’m not ignoring anything, you’re failing to provide evidence.
I did not ignore his entire point, and no, Boomstick does not count as a damage amp because it’s primary function is to deal damage.
No, I do not think ‘that’s it’. Damage CDs can have other cool effects such as straight-up damage, but their primary function is to amplify damage.
My test isn’t useful to you. Got it. Next time just say that. Nonetheless:
Logged data isn’t recorded outside of Raids or Keystones.
You can find my talents on my armory profile. I’m not holding your hand for this.
Misplaying is subjective because I’m playing slightly different. More casually, you may say.
It is almost like you’re policing my playstyle.
Here is the full unedited Dev note for Beast Mastery. You can see for yourself: they did not buff Bestial Wrath.
The following updates make no mention of buffing Bestial Wrath, only Cobra Shot, Kill Command, and Barbed Shot.
I agree! It is a very cool ability! I like pressing it… just not every 30sec.
Does that mean my playstyle is wrong?
Should I be punished in casual content for not pressing it every 30sec?
There’s a psychological aspect to this too. The more often someone presses their damage amp,the less fulfilling it is to press, at least for some players.
We reach the heart of the issue: only tuning for endgame Mythic Raids or Keystones.
Yes, it is painfully obvious that Blizzard seems to focus on tuning for only the endgame content. I don’t think anyone is disputing that observation.
Is it wrong then for casual players to ask for better balancing in casual entry-level content?
LFR
Heroic Dungeons
Delves
Prey
Snarky emotes after making a solid point that you see is subjectively wrong? You may not like it, but I am addressing all points of argument to the topics brought up, whereas you and others have continuously outright attacked me as a player; the little emotes I share are just tiny jabs compared to what you have personally said to me:
I’m garbage at my spec (which you conclude based on only one piece of evidence, ignoring all the other evidence).
I don’t know how to play my spec.
I’m an egomaniac.
Among many other things.
YOU are the toxic one here, Arahgon. You’re finally addressing one or two of my actual arguments, but you’re again attacking me as a player, calling me ‘snarky’ based on nothing but tiny little suggestive jabs by EMOTES. Grow up.
Then let me ask: does Bestial Wrath still feel fulfilling to press so often?
It’s ok if you say yes.
It’s also ok if other players say ‘no’, and wish for better steady-state damage so they can fight on-par with Marksmanship and Survival.
This is where you’re objectively wrong.
Beast Mastery’s tuning is designed around keeping Bestial Wrath’s uptime going.
Beast Mastery’s Talent Design makes Bestial Wrath optional.
That leads me to believe that Beast Mastery’s talents were poorly designed.
‘idiot proof’ is rhetorical and doesn’t strengthen your argument.
I have a feeling you don’t know what casuals really want. As a casual player myself, I am not concerned with messing up a 2min cooldown, or if I miss one or two procs of an ability, because in entry-level content, mistakes like this do not lead to a full wipe.
If we are talking about Heroic/Mythic Raiding and Mythic Keystones, then yes, you may have a strong argument. But again, we’re arguing for better balancing in entry-level content that actually feels good to play outside of the ‘optional’/required damage amp.
I’m not asking for Beast Mastery to be dumbed down. I’m asking for its steady-state to be on par with the other two Hunter Specs.
Right. You can safely be ignored now because you’re policing playstyle, just like Arahgon.
Reminder: I only excluded Bestial Wrath during an isolated test under very strict conditions to answer a specific question. I never said I refuse to exclude Bestial Wrath in my rotation.
You’re reframing again. We’re talking about a single skill and how it gates over 50% of a Specs damage. Blizzard doesn’t need to make every combination of talents comparable, balanced, or competitive. They just need to focus on the steady-state damage.
Am I wrong? Is the talent optional by design?
Strawmanning to something I never implied.
Both the Paladin and Panda have lost. Thanks for playing.
