So is SoD just abandoned or what?

Drain life doesn’t escalate.

Your Drain Life is no longer channeled, lasts 15 sec with a 15 sec cooldown, costs 100% more mana, and heals you for 50% more each time it deals damage.

Yes it does.

This would be nice, but it has never and will never happen, full stop. Blizz can barely balance the game at max level, lol.

No, it should be balanced around the present phase. There is absolutely nothing stopping the billion dollar small indie company from tuning their formulas to fit the present level cap, then reverting the formulas to their ‘classic’ state on next phase release so as to let the meta evolve naturally.
Nothing except incompetence and individuals like yourself rushing to their defense anyone suggests they put the slightest modicum of effort into supporting their cash cow.

Yes the rune makes it do 15/tick instead of 10, i.e. 50% more each tick. I use it all the time. The tooltip did confuse a lot people though.

lmao… yes… use resources to balance classes in their level 25 state… instead of finishing out new raid content… big brain you have over there

regardless the point is moot… if you neanderthals could read… or even do a moment of google searching… they stated on twitter they will be doing a balance pass of current class runes coming soon

Exactly.

it should be balanced now, and next month, and next year.

Once Classic+ Beta ends and the game comes out they can take what they learned here and apply it. Modifiers can be changed, cooldowns, durations, coefficients, etc. All can be changed.

There is literally no reason not to push a balance patch every 3-5 days. It should be a constant and active process.

It’s not a dot though. You can’t just run out of range of a dot. I’m pretty amazed how so many people don’t realize you can just walk away. Just cc the lock and walk away. Then they have to deal with a 15 second cooldown of no life drain. It’s so easy.

Bro really playing the top DPS class in the game, that will get even stronger with scaling, crying because he lost a duel. Then he cries that blizzard isn’t releasing hotfixes everyday when SoD hasn’t even been out for two weeks, as if they haven’t been averaging a hotfix every 2 days or so. CLOWN.

9 Days is long enough for changes to be made.

Are you implying they can’t do both at the same time? These are different teams. That’s like complaining that the art team isn’t adding new talents.

Have you not seen the amount of changes we have already gotten in those 9 days ?

The classic dev team are putting in serious work. More than half the player base isnt even lvl 25 yet chill out.

And vanillas drain life was any different? I see you haven’t run into locks with bags full of swiftness potions…

Ah yes, I too enjoy getting my WoW news from a twitter thread instead of any sort of communication in-game or on the forums. That’s an excellent way to ensure community engagement and understanding!
What new raid content? BFD is out. We’re not getting anything else this phase. Are you talking about the future additions? Sure, I’d like to see dev time for those, but guess what boomer-san—if the month-and-some-change-long first phase is poorly received and unattended with sparse communication from the dev team, you’re not going to see people sticking around for the second phase, or the third!
And here’s a whacky, zany idea: what if they had multiple teams to handle multiple issues? Like, say, a team to handle future dev, like you suggested—and a team that handles present phase dev? Now, you might be thinking that’s hard to plan around if present phase dev is making wild changes, but guess what! Like I mentioned before, they can just revert those changes to a baseline that future content is tuned around! The wonders of working in a digital medium where there are no permanent changes to code!

A swiftness pot doesn’t matter if you stun the lock then just simply walk out of range of drainlife. In fact if you are the one with the swiftness pot, the lock has no chance against YOU. Let alone something like blink.

Then go kill the lock because he now has no drain life for 15 seconds. It’s a cool down, they can’t just cast it again.

Locks are not the problem. It’s just people not knowing counters because a lot of these dynamics are brand new.

Please refrain from making such offensive and upsetting posts, I’ll have you kindly delete this before it becomes a problem, thank you.

It has nothing to do with target dummy dps.

get outa here with your logic… this is an illogical zone for people with the inability to think ahead!

Yes. Drain Life was a channeled spell. Not an instant cast dot that heals more and more.
