I guess there can be no debate about his class anymore. I always thought he was a priest 
(cuz of hearthstone).
I guess he graduated to pally when he grew up

I keep hoping for Tirion to come back and slap Anduin.
I think that Arthas was considered to be the first DK and he was still alive at the time. It was only when he took out his own heart that he ceased to be in that state. I’m assuming ripping out your heart qualifies as not being alive, in the accepted sense.
I think that Anduin would need to have a degree of self-control; the paladins that went to serve Arthas had lost their faith and accepted what he offered.

So if Anduin had agreed to take up Sylvanas’ offer and willingly serve, he would likely have become one. But he isnt really in the same situation. While Domination magic presumably can corrupt, its more likely that we can see the physical manifestation of it (silver hair, pale skin, overly white irises etc) but he remains living.
The interesting question is, was his soul split. If Frostmourne split souls (which seems to be the case in certain situations) and if Kingsmourne is made in the same way, its possible Anduin’s soul could be partially held inside the crystal in the sword, and that would make him weaker and more susceptible to the death magic.
Time will tell I guess.
Ugh, Death Knights. Now Anduin is going to just sit in his room listening to Bauhaus on cassette while occasionally yelling out “It’s NOT a phase, Mom! Sheeeesh!”
It doesn’t matter what he is as long as he’s gone to make room for whoever Blizzard decides is going to be the queen of the Alliance
Per Blizzard he was still a priest, not a paladin. He only gets to wear plate and have a sword because he’s an NPC and they don’t have to live by the same rules us mere mortal players do ;…; So no, he’s not a paladin or a death knight, he’s just a priest being mind-controlled via runeforged domination armor/sword.

Does not make sense, he’s significantly too Powerful to be a Death Knight.
so what’s the undead version of a priest? cuz that needs to be a class then…and that’s what anduin is now?
on another note - aren’t death knights the undead version of paladins? or is that just too warcraft 3 lol

He’s not undead, just being mind-controlled via Jailer domination magic. Guess is if we can manage to shatter the sword or armor he’ll be back to normal. He’ll need extensive therapy for the stuff he was made to do while controlled, but other than that he should be fine. They might give him a stylish white streak in his hair like Auntie Jaina as a sign of the trauma.
