So Ion plays the game and is the lead developer

It’s obvious the person in charge of questing had better things to do. The quest text is terrible. I have a second screen that’s pretty much on Wowhead most of the time.

He what? And this is the guy that basically signs off on the game. The same guy who basically came out and said “Yeh nah no more flying guys, the game feels great without it” and he hasn’t even done the world content that is SO GREAT TO DO WITHOUT FLYING! OH YEH!

You could not possibly have a worse voice in this game than someone that advocates for anything, goes into interviews telling us how great it is, than NEVER DOES IT!

I’ve done mythic raid before and his stats on just that log that was posted, garbage honestly. I just looked at the last Sire kill they done, he was 4% while a healer in the raid was 99%, dudes being carried, chances are because of who he is.

There was rumours in Legion or BFA, a recent expansion, where some suspicious changes were made to a raid boss, sus because they were made right around the time his guild was doing that boss.

Do you see?

If you think quests are confusing today then you would have fun in older mmorpg’s, or older WoW, when there was no arrow to point you in the direction and no dot on the map to tell you what to utilize. I can’t believe this is actually a complaint. Lore and story of quests are one thing, but to have to use wowhead on a second monitor most of the time.

Because everyone enjoys everything about the game, right? Maybe he has a job and can’t devote the amount of time you do to the game. Maybe he has more stuff to do irl than you do. It’s weird to think that not everyone no-lifes a video game.

I played those, and it was still explained much better in the quest text so that at least I knew what I was supposed to do in the first place.

I dunno, to each their own. We all do things differently but I’ve never heard someone having to constantly keep wowhead open for quest help.

I have no examples, but there were some very horrible quests I have done recently that in no way at all told you what to do, it was like answering a quiz and guessing where to go. Even the comments on wowhead where saying the same, it’s quite bad now.

The obsession you have in appearing to defend him literally everywhere is twice the amount of creepy.

Nah, the guy doesn’t need anyone to defend him. By proxy, everyone here is defending him with their time, money, and devotion to the product that he is director of.

Something, something, laughing all the way to the bank.

And yet here you are right on time like a certain wizard from the Lord of the Rings.

You are neither late nor are you early, you arrive precisely on time. I wonder why :stuck_out_tongue:

You replied to me, in multiple threads, back to back. It’s almost like “here Dalyguy is, right on time, in numerous threads replying to me again”.

Is there a restriction to replying in multiple threads at the same time while also considering the context of those threads?

No, I think it’s cute of you.

Alright sure?

He’s the guy that says yes or no, but like any good leader he will likely listen to the pitch of the lead developer for whatever (raid, dungeon, PvP, world-quests, campaign-quests, etc.) and then ask for pros/cons from all the other leads in the council. Many organizations have a position like director that oversees the actual lead developers. The director may also server as a lead developer in one game aspect, but your posts seem to imply that you think the director is also the lead developer for every game aspect–that’s pretty unlikely.

The CEO of an international financial institution may have some inkling about state bonds, small business loans, consumer mortgages & credit cards, etc., but he doesn’t need to be an expert in all of those things as most org charts I’ve seen from my big banking friends had Senior Vice Presidents in charge of all those functions within a region (with a President over each region like America, Europe, Oceanic, etc.). ActivisionBlizzard likely has a similar setup with J Allen Brack as President of Blizzard, Game Directors for WoW, Overwatch, Diablo, Hearthstone, and functional leads under each game director for major game aspects.

Ion is an amazing raid designer, even in bad expansions like BFA, SL, and WoD the raids have been really, really good. Castle Nathria is honestly one of the better ones imo, Uldir was great, BoD was amazing, BRF was amazing etc. Buuut in terms of pretty much everything else… no, he’s not very good at it.

It doesn’t madder because he has a lawyer mentality. He needs to go but won’t because that revenue is flowing.

it’s pointless. most of these people have no idea how management works. they think the CEO of citibank is personally preparing mailing lists of people to offer credit cards to

Ion is not a nice person - all you have to do is watch the (limited - because he’s too important to engage us riffraff with any frequency) interviews he has given to observe what a smug, elitist, and just generally nasty human being he is. And this is the guy driving the boat.

Why do people wonder why modern WoW sucks so much, again?
