That’s what I figured too but Restoration / elemental doesn’t list axes on the weapon they use. Sure I can equip one but given that it wasn’t listed on the spec page I wasn’t sure if the game would have them available in the loot table
For future reference, grab both quests. Completing the heroic version gives credit for normal as well.
The spec page is just general info stuff for new players as far as I know. And axes aren’t something that generally has Intel on it so they don’t want noobs looking for axes. I don’t think the spec page has any actual bearing on what is possible in game.
I thought “Well yeah that makes sense” but my dumb anxiety was just “YEAH BUT WHAT IF THO? WHAT IF YOU’RE WRONG YOU BIG DUMB MORON?” lol
If it helps the lvl 20 shaman intel weapon quest in Silverfang Keep for Alliance is an axe.
I’ll keep on farming the normal warfront then
I was astonished and very, VERY disappointed by this. I was SUPER stoked for Warfronts because I played WC2 and WC3 and loved the idea of bringing that concept into WoW.
But there was no PvP. There was no real war. Until the recent addition of heroic, it was impossible (without really trying super hard to fail) to lose one. It was…nothing. It wasn’t worth doing, and we level out of the rewards so fast that doing any of them more than a handful of times was just not worth the time.
It was the worst calculation to spend so much time developing these beautiful and complex systems for islands and warfronts (it really was top-notch foundation work) only to deprive the warfronts of PvP for replayability and then making islands a speed-run exercise in drudgery that most of us actually dreaded having to do for grinding AP.
They could’ve been so great. Sigh.
Can’t even farm the “fancy” version of the armor because it’s all dumb luck rng if you get a armor appearance you didn’t have before. Sure you can farm over and over til you get the basic version of the armor but the cooler version is behind a “you gotta wait til next time” wall because they KNEW no one would play them after they got the gear they wanted.
Ugh.

I still do them because not only are they one of the few group activities in the game I actually enjoy, the Draught of Ten Lands feeds my alt-leveling addiction.
I just don’t get how they can clearly have no faith in their product and expect their customers to have faith.
Least they seem somewhat proud of Torgast but my cynical nature is just going “It’s PR”
It drops for ele and resto shamans, mistweaver monks and holy paladins, so if you have any of those, you’d have to farm with one of them, if you’re not a healer just set your loot type to one of those healers.
Ah cool cool. I’ve been farming the normal warfront with my shaman. He’s Enhancement but I have his loot spec set to elemental. I would just stay restoration since he can do that too but I almost never have to heal anybody or even the npcs on normal difficulty. That and I just don’t like how plain the dps is when I’m resto and something comes for me.
Just stay elemental, especially in regular warfronts, there’s almost never a time when you need to heal someone. You’ll get the mog soon enough, I think it was my third try on my paladin before i got it.
They totally could have gone full RTS mode. Have a player designated as commander in charge of deployment. You get deserter debuffs for going AWOL. Have engineering players set up goblin harvesters.
Not every commander nor team has a fully fleshed out maxed out research build. Maybe the commander wants to send out only flying units.
Basically take everything we learned from Ashran and Warfronts and make it more player choice. I’m sure LFG pugs would be a complete disaster, but guilds and discord premades could make something awesome.
Assign healers to various groups. Send out expansion parties with a Brutosaur caravan carrying supplies and having to defend them.
Give commanders bird eye view of terrain. Hunters and rogues could act as scouts. Locks could be in charge of summoning hordes of demons.
The sky is the limit.
Heh meanwhile it took my warrior like. 10 goes before that awesome shield or 2H sword dropped. Granted I can charge in like a madman on my Arms warrior compared to the “build up” of enhancement shaman dps
Yeah, the shield is great, almost with basically all of the mogs available. Some of Blizz’ lost content.
That wait would go by so much faster if the people piling up at the gates would go back, grab resources from the chest, and contribute…
That’s why I’m bummed the other warfronts were cancelled. I’m sure the art team already had the armor sets ready to go and just having it cancelled? I would be so bummed. Just “But…I made the armor look good…”
