So I tried out FFXIV - 1 piece of feedback as a result

Seriously, this was the most beautiful thing when they first introduced weather to WoW. I still have old screenshots of my Druid standing on one of the stone bridges with the rain just pouring down.

Feeling all the feels now

All you need to do for weather is go play in MoP.

I actually don’t like weather in this game all that much because it gets too dark sometimes.

I tried that game several times over the years. I still say it sucks. I can not say why. It was just so urg.

Yeah, that’s just wrong though. Samurai is the top melee on most fights right now and the gap between the top and the bottom melee is ~2%. You won’t be declined from a group for being a particular class in that game unless there’s a dupe which hurts limit break generation.

The only “weak” DPS are the physical ranged, and that’s by design because they have no movement restrictions. You need one anyway for the party buff since each role gives 1% main stat.

It’s funny you say that and it kinda shows by the comments you are getting. I see posts that FF is better than wow but other than this one post about the weather nobody has said why it’s better. Like how people are responding to you, it’s all a vague, “it’s better” or “you didn’t get to the better part”.

Take a look at how good the lighting and darkness effects in wow vanilla beta were. It was good. Look at how weather effects were in vanilla, also good. They nerfed both, so the game would more easily run on some kids potato of a computer. Soulless corporation that only cares about money.

Will NEVER happen. For the same reason that Ultima online 2 got the cord pulled on it. WoW is a very very low effort cash cow for actiblizzard, they can put in a bit of money for a garbage expansion every 2 years, and the game prints money. Their customer base is absolutely crippled by sunk cost fallacy, many of the people playing are literally unable to quit playing.

A hypothetical WoW2 would require hundreds of millions in development costs, probably ten times or more than what they burn to give us the same borrowed powers they took away in a previous expansion. Worse, it would cut into WoWs free money train, and the people playing WoW2 would not be bound by sunk cost, they’d be able to quit.

Why can’t people stay on point? It’s just what they wish WoW had that other games have RPG wise. I guess you all read FFXIV in the title and rush to complain about it?

WOW has weather.

Thread like this always ends up turn into Average WOW fans vs Average FF enjoyer, it’s hilarious.

No kidding, I had no idea me being like “yeah random actual weather would be really cool in older zones again” would spark such nonsense.

But what does that have to do with me saying “yeah the weather was really cool and I think it’d be neat to have again in old zones”? Why does that need a counter argument about FF and its content? Quite literally this is a thread about weather.

Have you even played WoW or experienced all the zones? There are lots of zones that start raining out of the blue etc. So not sure what you are trying to compare here since WoW does it as well.

There are also zones that change for darkness as well too. So again, not sure what you are trying to compare here.

And did you read the whole OP?

Neither of these things happen. I’m specifically highlighting, for the sake of RP value, more weather in zones which do not have it. And weather, as is obvious based on the amount of people who have also said it in this thread, is severely lacking.

Boralus, Stormsong, and Zuldazar all had little rain showers which would happen for 2-5 minutes. Maybe 10. If you took 10 steps, or flew a smidge, it was suddenly gone and the sky was bright. Our nights are so vaguely different from our days that it’s not noticeable at all sometimes, and people had been begging for options ever since Inky Black Potions came about.

So I ask you again - did you read the whole OP? Or do dust storms happen in Orgrimmar, and rain happens in Stormwind, and I just never knew?

FF14 does have its nice world building and RP elements that I do wish WoW did more of.

I just cant play FF longer than a month without being drained of its entertainment. Its a good time waster.

Your title is abit clickbaity, if you just put “Bring back weather” you won’t get more than 10 replies.

So play a male Au’ra instead. I do, and he’s awesome.

No it’s not, but okay. Me saying “Yeah I gave FF a shot - here’s one thing I liked based on what I saw, that I wish we had back” is not clickbaity.

Change FFXIV to “other game”, don’t use FFXIV in your title, it’s WOW playerbase’s kryptonite, and im sure you already know it.

No, the WoW playerbase’s kyrptonite is the inability to read as so many people in this thread have shown, and shown regularly. It is a thread about weather and basic RP elements. The amount of people who have completely disregarded it and came here to defend / attack either one or the other out of sheer nonsensical drive is insanity.

Case in point. This thread has nothing to do with FF being better. I openly state I am not flaming Blizzard or anything of the sort. All I said was I liked the weather. How did people jump to such conclusions about a flippin’ thunder storm?

What are you talking about? Its a thread talking about how bad WoW is in comparison to X.

This is the most popular thread type on forums.
