So I spent roughly 30-40 hours farming sockets

So its just a pvp problem.

So nothing i have to worry about, alright.

And I post on alts, but good to see that being used as some reasoning to justify things that would make me hate the game. You people are masochists.

It’s crazy how many people are combating with the OP, it’s a very large issue when the lead pvp dev tells us lower gear won’t be better than higher gear and lower levels won’t be stronger than higher levels and both of those being lies.

Doesn’t help.

So Blizzard succeed to get you to pve to pvp .

You have provided enough time metrics to Blizzard that you will do that to pvp. They have no pressure to change their ways .

Post on your main you coward. And no, we aren’t masochists. We don’t enjoy doing this. We enjoy killing each other in the arena but gear from PvE is necessary to do that.

People are weird, man. Someone proved today that adding gem sockets to your gear makes you weaker in PvP thanks to scaling, and the response is to go after OP. Sad.

I know, it baffles me that this is a subject to argue with. This is obviously a oversight and a slight against the player and their time. An apology and a fix is rightfully due for this.

I did the same for M+.

I mean, we are all doing things to upgrade our toons. well, most of us at least. some of us just take every opportunity to be the best we can, given the time we have. For me, every socket is essentially 1% more healing/damage and .5% less damage taken. Spread that over 9-10 pieces and you are seeing potentially huge increases to damage or healing.

Some people legit go a little bit stupid when they see criticism of Blizzard. This is clearly broken and not defensible, yet these folks are doing it on reflex. Embarrassing.

So glad there was a thread on this.

They really need to fix this issue because it doesn’t make sense, and it’s laughable to see them talk about RPG elements and such when getting better gear to get stronger is the point of an RPG??? But they have systems in place to punish you for putting in the effort to get said gear? Blizz, Hello?

I feel cheated out of for spending the time to grind sockets thinking I was getting stronger when really I’m just making it easier for people to dunk on me by putting gems…

Scaling should never have been a thing.

Lmao, they’re probably having a meeting right now on how to phrase the response so it sounds like its a good thing.

100% right. It shouldn’t be a thing. I had some mage and rogue, both with under 260k health try to gank me the other night. I was playing boomi and with cds up… my star surges should have been one shotting them. Instead, they were hitting for only 30-40k. Makes no sense.

The only reason I was even able to kill them was because they were both terrible. The fact they took so little damage despite having no gear is just beyond me. Here I’m in some of the best gear in game and I’m barley touching a player who has been in 0 effort.

While I hated templates, i would honestly take them back in a heartbeat of w/e we have now. The current system makes no sense.

wait wut?
is that intended?

id be pissed if i lost a socket that cost 25k mementos just trying to stash something lol

You dont lose the socket option itself, it just removes the gem from the socket.

ohhh cool cool. i got scared for a sec

Why, do you have something against your free time?

Why work on anything in 8.3 every system is designed to waste your time.
Time played > quality
is blizzard new design philosophy

It probably equalizes things a bit then between people who have that kind of time and have been able to get all the corruptions and those that don’t.

It’s like that pretty lady says, haters gonna hate hate hate.

By making it so people that had the time to get sockets would have been better off never spending a single second farming sockets and have 0 sockets because it’s better than having them.

Spend time in the game acquiring upgrades to… be worse off than if you didn’t.
