So I quit...here is why. (just feedback no rage)

I hear you. Wife and I are retired so have all of the time in the world to do what we want most of the time. We are currently watching infant grandchild and chuckling that daughter will have a teenager before she knows it while we get to watch from the sidelines.

it’s always been this way. I’ve been playing for 14 years and its the same every expac. Get gear work hours upon hours to gear up beat raids, do pvp, then boom, new expac rinse and repeat. What were you really expecting. This is how all MMOs are.

I don’t do subtlety. I am a Shaman, not a rogue.

Thats actually really cool, a OG living the dream, thats nice.

Thats what im here for, allways glad to help old folks

However you are not a tauren resto druid, what a disappointment

It sure would be nice if I could just select whatever dungeon difficulty I wanted without needing a keystone, and take my sweet time completing it without sacrificing my ability to play on that difficulty again. Raids aren’t timed; I shouldn’t have to beat a timer in a dungeon to play on the difficulty of my choice and receive rewards appropriate to the difficulty. The difficulty should shift away from time and toward traditional sources of difficulty such as mob health/damage and mechanics.

Nice cherry picking a quote and leaving out the part where I said bring back tier sets. M+ is still mandatory right now.

i do wonder if you’re on to something, there. BFA was for all intents and purposes a massive dud and ushered in huge subscription losses. Those losses were only tempered with the release of classic and covid quarantines forcing people inside without much else to do for the better part of a year. Without those factors, i shudder to think what sub numbers would have looked like.

Shadowlands feels like a hail mary in a lot of ways - a last ditch attempt to right the ship. Its hard to assume the investor side of things was very happy with bfa’s performance. I suspect this also why we’re hearing rumblings of TBC classic being rushed out the door for the spring far earlier than anyone expected.

Alright lets take off the tinfoil for a sec. The game made a ridiculous amount of money even during the disaster that was BFA.

It’s just Blizzard’s tendency to swing back and forth way too hard whenever they make changes.

What is this fascination of burdening yourself with a baby… I don’t get it. You want to have fun, don’t freaking have a kid to be tied down with. How hard is that???

It was a subscription promotion…and they got me with it. Had to have that transmog. Honestly though I am fully retired and have plenty of playtime. We just don’t like the game, it really isn’t a shortage of gametime. But takes more effort with a child and that is just another reason to not devote to playing a healing class you aren’t as interested in.

While I agree from a general standpoint, “mature human beings” should also not complain (different from explaining, mind you) when their major choices run them afoul of their hobbies.

Using your choice to have children as a tentpole for design changes is regrettable. A mature adult should be capable of recognizing the natural consequences of their choices and have patience; there will be time for their hobbies in the near future, after all.

Do you have a source for your claim? Oh wait, you’re just doomsaying. Every industry measure has WoW in the top spot.

Pre-shadowlands WoW was lower, it will go low again as SL progresses. And not just by numbers, just general reviews…FFXIV is king right now with how they do their game, followed by ESO - WoW is so bad it cant be reviewed good.

Legend of Zelda is a niche series? haha Breath of the Wild sold 19.74 million copies https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/finance/software/index.html
and the franchise as a whole has sold 123.73 million copies. I didn’t know the bar for niche was so high these days.

The few and the proud, I’m 70 and started playing when I was 54. I think you’ll find there are more of us lurking around than you might think

At this point I’m just logging in a couple days a week and the rest of the time I’m playing other stuff.

I’ve had my FFXIV sub going for a long time and I play that with some friends.

One of my friends and I have recently been dabbling with Return of Reckoning (Warhammer Online server).

That 15$ a month is bleeding you dry

That’s fair. Did you notice the final column of the report? It’s the Activity Score. WoW has a 3. Wow Classic has a 5. Runescape and FF have an 8.

What does activity score measure? How often people log in?

We need moar rage :rage:

While I think the game plays really well atm, I agree completely. Plenty of people I played with in the past really like how the game is now, but personally? I feel, as you said, left behind (for me I think it’s the E-sports mentality.)

It’s funny how the more competitive gaming gets, the less competitive I consider myself…I used to be one of the most competitive players I knew, and now healing a +8 ToP stresses me out, lol.

If I play consistently it’s not as bad, but the timer is always a factor I wish they kept as a cosmetic thing…

Oh well.

You don’t even need to be good. You can get everything by just running it over and over, you can buy arena runs easily enough if you wanted to as well. Its just do you want it bad enough to run 5000 battlegrounds and or arenas? thats the thing
