Well, by the time you’re at the end of the dungeon you generally know who the “valid” party members are. Should have kicked much sooner, like by first boss even? By the time you’re at the end, just finish, put a fork in it, and move on. The “got ya” kick at the last boss is meh, at best. Timing is definitely a factor in this story, fabricated or not. It was all gravy, conveniently, until the end. It was only then when the straw broke the camel’s back. Just not something I’d have done in that situation, unless it was well-deserved.
