So How Many Players Need to Buy New Computers?

I’m still using a i5-7500 but was told it will be just as good as the recommended i7. Shouldn’t have to worry about replacing my GeForce GTX 1060 for awhile though.

i upgraded to a 8700, 1060gb 16gb ram and out of everything i play its Uldir trash that still makes my pc struggle

I have right now my second/third build
i5 4690k CPU
RX580 MSI GPU
H97 Gaming 3 mobo
16 GB ram

And still I want to do another rebuild soonish…
Z370 mobo, i7 8700k DDR4 ram 16gb and a Vega56 gpu

Yea. In a way I wish I would have waited but I’m very happy with my rig right now.
Even with the new stuff coming its still going to be good for years and there is some room for upgrades.
I went from a raft to a battle cruiser for gaming. Lol.

Amd Ryzen 5 2600
Gigabyte B350 gaming MB
RX 570 gpu
Pci M2 250 gig SSD Toshiba (amazing system boots)
250 gig sata SSD. (Already need more space because i started playing other games besides wow. Now that i have a rig that runs games well lol)
I have a 500 gig HDD but after seeing what ssd is all about i can’t put a HDD in. LOL
So I’m waiting to buy a bigger ssd.
8 gigs of 3000mhz(i think might be 3300) ram
750 watt corsair power supply

So yea still room for upgrades but runs well for what I do. I’ll eventually add more storage and maybe 8 more gigs of ram but I’m not in much of a rush.
I’ll uninstall something if i have to.

Yeah you’re good for a minute but after my research you’re actually at 35% of optimal
Where I’m at -11%
Keep that in mind when the new i9 drops you’ll be at 19%!
I’m looking forward to a i7/2070ti/16 for a $1k
But beggars can’t be choosers

No I’ve noticed a significant improvement in performance.

No problem here, I’m getting 60fps everywhere, this i73770k is like a tank! 500GB SSD, 16GB ram, EVGA GTX 960, Win10 … I am however looking to build a new one soon

If anything patch 8.1 save me from buying a new computer this year since there is nothing to look forward for from blizzard this year. Will be canceling my subscription in January and playing my backlog of video games…

Complete new setup, no. New graphics card? Yes.

I’ve had my Dell Inspiron with an i5 processor since Mists. I’ve needed a new Graphics card for years. But, I’ve decided to just buy a top-of-the-line rig with an i9 and Nvidia 2080 in it. That should last me far longer.

You better start worrying about buying new phones the way everything is starting to shape up.

I had to say back in June. Computer I was using was struggling with Legion as it were. Given the specs and the operating system is was only a matter of time.

Glad to say I am content with the new computer I’m running. This would have to be the second time I’ve gone out to actually buy a computer. Last time was when Circuit City was still around. Gives you an idea of how long ago.

I’ve needed a new computer these last 2 years. It is quite amazing I can even play WoW on what I have. Thanks Blizzard for adjustable levels of graphics.

I’ve only played in Linux (OpenSUSE) since the Burning Crusade expansion; Not even having a Windows OS since I deleted the Vista partition then.

I honestly did not notice a change. I expected trouble, after browsing the tech support forum with all the “native” windows users having trouble. Then I got in the game and it seemed exactly the same. I noticed no longer load times, or anything.

I can’t remember the last time I did a computer “upgrade”/rebuild; I think it was at the end of MoP? My “AGP CARD” rig finally went belly up. That was when I got this dual core proc, Nvidia Geforce 750 Ti 2 gig, 8 gig system ram computer which I built. The biggest bang I could get would be finding an intel CPU with more cores, which would still fit a mother board this old, and getting the biggest Nvidia card # which would still work with that combination.

Apart from Wow, I’ve been spoiled by consoles. I jumped on with the Xbox 360, which served me for 10 years or so and spoiled me. Then I moved the the Xbox One, even transferring a couple games over to it I still was playing. $399, or whatever, for nearly 10 years of gaming, is hard to beat. It finally became viable for me to basically switch to console.

Wow, as well as now FFXIV, are really the last games I use a computer for (under Linux with both, again.) So it is hard to justify an upgrade when I can still do those.

I’m enjoying the HECK out of Red Dead Redemption 2, especially the Online version (even though “beta”, though we keep the characters/progression), on the Xbox One. Even on a regular Xbox One, it looks INCREDIBLE. I can’t even imagine the powerhouse computer I’d need to play that as well, once it is out for computers.

I desperately need one. Not because of WoW, but because this poor computer is failing. I got it in 2010 and its not a bad computer, but the sound card is dying and the USBs on the front and the top no longer work.

So, the plan is for me to get a new computer then take my old one in to get repaired and it’ll be a nice back up computer if either of our computers need to go in for repair.

The multi-core optimization actually brought back an old laptop out of the junkroom it was stored in. After wiping the drive and installing both Windows 10 and the client, I can play WoW on it with only minimal graphics tweaking.

I actually just got a new computer and it has really made a difference for me playing in the game. Now that I have all of the tools to work with and feel like I’m keeping up with some of the other players.

I have an old potato of a computer that I’ve had for a while that runs even better with the recent changes that they have made to the game engine. I only use the old one for a backup computer and other games - still it’s nice to see everything falling into place and having fun again.

WoW keeps complaining about my system not being compatible when I start the game, but I haven’t noticed any difference in performance so I just ignore its nagging

The graphics and patches are quite hefty now… not sure how much longer my computer can keep doing WoW,
hopefully they don’t increase the specs next xpac
they are at i7 recommended already its kinda nuts…

i bought a new computer about 2 years ago. i dont really foresee needing another one anytime soon as i dont really game much on it except for this and maybe a couple of other older games.
