So how do the Elemental lords play into Dragon flight?

True. We interrupted their ritual before it made any meaningful progress. Although you can see the top of Ragnaros’ head poking out of the lava pool.

And weren’t the cultist using an enchanted hammer also? I know we had to acquire a weapon from the cultists to stop them

Ragnaros had a Cinder of his form Timelocked so his Soul would not be able to be dispersed on death.

The Timelocked Cinder is practically a Horcrux for Ragnaros allowing him to be resurrected again and again!

You mean the Buddhist one that claims that we are the wave?

In the Buddhist sense the wave is not the person himself and so the wave can be reborn again and again until it hits the shore and rejoins the water thus attaining Nirvana.

The Cow eaten for food is a wave that continues as long as Cows are eaten for food.

The Cow’s Soul might go wherever it wants but the wave moves from Cow to Cow until someone starts practicing cannibalism causing the wave to move from Human to Human until it either reaches the shore, crashes into another wave or the Asuras & Devas start practicing cannibalism themselves.

A most malignant wave moves straight into Naraka where such cruelty is commonplace and such waves can be worn down over centuries until they are shaped into less malignant waves.

Grudge Ghosts like Kayako are born from Waves that manifest sentient Echoes that can add more imprints to the Onryō Wave. Ironically enough the manifestation of multiples of Kayako is repeated in a Western Horror Movie the Nun where the Demon Valak manifests multiples of himself in Nun form somehow.

That we are temporary constructs of the natural world as temporary as an ocean wave and that which makes us up gets recycled back into the natural world after we die as a wave does after it breaks on the shore.

Buddhism isn’t big on the survival of the individual ego after death.
