Is Alliance getting Setthak or what? Just wondering.

My money is still on Mechagnomes.
Although I guess Blizzard could exercise their patented BfA brand of tone-deafness and give Vulpera to the Horde without giving the Alliance a new allied race at all.

Doesn't seem to be much reason for the Setthrak to side with the Alliance at the moment with the Alliance invading Voldun and putting it to the torch. More likely the alliance kills both races off and neither become allied races.
Still, who knows?
Maybe there will be a side quest in 8.3 where the Alliance help the snek bois drive away all the horde that aren't actually in Voldun at all. (for the glory of the Alliance)

I really don't get why people think sethrak would be Alliance. It keeps being brought up and there's literally nothing in game that points to it. Everything in game points to the opposite. If they're made playable they will be a Horde race.

Because there's no other new race to the expansion that could be an allied race so it's either hope for Sethrak or look forward to another pulled-out-of-the-rear allied race.
The only potential "in" you could argue the Alliance have with the sethrakk is the fact that they did rescue their leader during the war campaign, versus the Horde rescuing...some guy who died if I remember correctly during their leveling.
But that's a pretty shallow "in". I mean, I wouldn't complain if the sethrakk were playable, I think they're neat. I don't really care which faction they joined either, I'd still roll one.
But I don't think they'll be playable for anyone. I'm pretty convinced the vulpera will eventually join the Horde, but I don't think the sethrakk are going to join just by virtue of being the obvious counterpart. I think the next Alliance allied race is going to be mechagnomes/junkergnomes/whatever you want to call them. They seem to be hinting that pretty strongly with the stuff happening with Mekkatorque in 8.1.

Horde are in pretty tight with the Sethrak god, what with the whole resurrecting her being thanks to us, so I'm going to say Sethrak joining the Alliance makes no sense. Then we might as well tack on killing Mythraxx since Uldir is obviously a Horde cannon raid.
Unless of course your saying the Alliance props up the Faithless, now that their leaderless, and no longer the regional power, but that is its own can of worms and largely requires Alliance to sacrifice the moral high ground they love.
Are there any races in kul'tiras that point to an allied race? I haven't quested there enough to find out. It'd be interesting if both allied races are from zandalar and then the next pair are from kul'tiras. Or perhaps if vulpera aren't added until much later, the alliance allied race equivalent will be on a new mini island land mass like the past expansions that had timeless isle or argus.
Hm. There are friendly Drust. Wicker construct bodies. Perhaps introduce a faction of them to the Alliance? I'd certainly be interested in trying out a drust, personally.

I kind of get why people want Sethrak. Seems like a new race. That said it makes no sense for them to join the Alliance.
I'd rather the Alliance got races that makes sense as Allied Races before getting anything new. Wildhammer Dwarves, Vykrul, Broken, High Elves, etc...

While I do want them to do more allied races of a race they've already done (mostly because I want taunka and wildhammer at some point), I also kinda want them to explore more races before retreading races they've already done.
Though I still wonder if we'll ever see vrykul, since those dudes are really tall. Part of me thinks they'll never be playable.

Because they're the "opposite number" to vulpera, like how hozen and jinyu were opposites in MoP.

They're telegraphing mechagnomes pretty hard. Kelsey Steelspark says she wishes she was a machine in 8.0, and in 8.1 Gallywix says in two separate occasions (once in a quest, once in a raid) that he thinks Mekkatorque wishes he was a robot.
