So, Horde aligned Earthen?

Earthen warrior could be cool If he has a Horde tabard similar to dracthyr and Huojin.

Or maybe like the Alliance suddenly got a faction of the most popular race on the Horde (say the Blood Elves) split off and given to them?

I like using my stone guard tabard, but now I am really hoping for that dwarf druid.

I play toons that can’t tank, but in my wizened old heart of hearts, I like being a meat shield. Or at least having the option.

Besides, come on, dwarf bear.

…

Damnit.

I was hoping for that druid. Oh well. Good enough.

Given that the Horde has always had strong shamanic roots, Earthen make more sense as Horde than Alliance.

Being a titanforged race means our city won’t be ugly similar to Orgrimmar I see this as net positive.

Dwarfs are a core race of the alliance and everyone points that out.

It is rather odd for the new race to not have druid forms. Only thing I can imagine is they have no analogs to druids in their culture. Which would enable them to learn how to be a druid later on by exposure to the other races.

Earthen are not dwarves… they’re elementals and dealing with elementals has always been a Horde thing.

Always possible for a few titanforged to be close to Freya. I think. :robot::thought_balloon:

Still curious what their paladin mount SHOULD look like. :memo::robot:

Earthen….are dwarves. It’s what they looked like pre curse of flesh. No idea where you’re getting that they’re elementals

Its a bit early to claim theyre not getting a council seat. We havnt had any faction focus in Dragonflight and the expansion is still going.

I think people need to stop saying theyre just dwarves. Earthen are comparable to playable Vrykul more than anything. Theyte an ancestor, predecessor race that gave way to a modern race; that doesnt mean theyre locked to that faction though.

If you target enemy Earthen the game tag last I checked was Elemental.

They’re literally proto dwarves and what dwarves looked like pre curse of flesh.

They aren’t elementals regardless of what the game labels them as

Yeah Death Knight will be interesting. Maybe they make it that DK Earthen are ones from Northrend instead. Because I doubt Blizzard would bring in a new DK starting “experience” just for one race and make it post Shadowlands.

I have to say. You brush past the curse of flesh pretty casually. I don’t see any reason why the Earthen would be all that aligned with a corrupted version of their race acting on a political history they had no part of.

Check the racial abilities of the present player dwarf races. They are things such turning to stone, and imbuing themselves with fire.

Sounds pretty compelling evidence of elemental roots to me.

Nobody said anything about them about wanting to align with their corrupted kin though?

The Earthen are literally what the dwarves were pre curse of flesh. Don’t know what to tell you man, that’s the lore on the earthen

Blizzard has been… weird with things like that. For example Archimonde in WoD was listed as a humanoid for a while. I even used the Soul draining toy on him to make his corpse tiny. And that toy only works on Humanoids and Beasts iirc.

Likewise Helya is listed as a humanoid when she should be undead. Since you know, she is a Val’kyr… Cloud Serpents were inconsistently listed as beasts and Dragonkin throughout MoP. And to this day it is still confusing as the pet battle versions are part of the dragonkin family.

Hell iirc, Sylvanas in her encounter in SoD (the raid, not revamped classic) is listed as a humanoid. SYLVANAS.

That’s not just a minor difference. There’s a titan machine in Northrend that cranks out Earthen on demand. Dwarves like other mortal races have to reproduce themselves the long way.

Earthen don’t have things like gender, if the new race is going to be presented correctly.
