I’d say your take is pretty spot on. I have left WOW on several occasions and eventually came back. When I come back to the game its not because they “undid” the reason I left…its because I missed the game and they had introduced new interesting things I wanted to try.
Not to mention after you leave and run the current gambit of MMOs on the market someone may come to the conclusion WOW is better than all of them…
